My lashes are straight and of medium length and no matter what type of mascara I use I can't get them to curl. I've been thinking about getting eyelash extensions and was wondering what your thoughts are and for those that have had them done how do you like them.
Thanks

I had them many many times..I actually was a certified eyelash extenstionist and had them applied at a salon for years. Honestly I do not recommend it. I was really good with them, but somehow, all my lashes fell out and I had to wear false strip lashes for a year because I had no lashes what so ever.. My friends said the same thing, they noticed bald patches in their lashes.
Not only that, but they are quite expensive, and you will need to get a touch up at least once every 7-10 days. The salons say "2-3 weeks" but in my experience, that is simply not true. Your lashes shed daily, so if you have an extension attached to that lash, it will fall out, giving you an uneven appearance.
I would try a lash serum like Rapid Lash and apply that to your lashes every night for a month, it will help your lashes grow quite a bit and its all natural. Or a better alternative if you just want curl, would be to get an eyelash perm, those are less risky :)

WOW thanks for the great info. Looks like I may have to think twice about the extensions, and look into some of the serums instead.
Thanks again !!

I agree with Style, I got them because my lashes are very light and short and they looked awesome and lasted about two weeks before I had to get a touch up but the long term effect on your lashes is not worth it. When I finally stopped getting them done my lashes were almost non existent. It took months to grow back. Horrible.

I know that you can do a "lashes-wave"
We did that in the hairdress-barber-shop where i worked at. And it's very good... Maybe you could try it out. :)
(Sorry i just translated the word from german, i don't know the exactly word in english)

I agree with these ladies! My boss got them for me as a gift last year (one of the nicest places in the city) and while the initial product is gorgeous (IMO) it isn't worth it! I didn't even get one touch up and I had a few patches by the end of it. Luckily I recovered quickly lol but I can't imagine the kind of damage it would do long term.

One of my best friends got them for New Year's Eve and had to sit with old eye makeup on the whole next day because the makeup remover she did have could not be used on the extensions (can only be water based or something). Seems like a pain in the ass if you ask me.

Thanks so much for all the great info !! I never imagined it was so bad for your lashes. Does anyone have recommendations for lash serums that actually work? I always thought of them to be more of a gimmick but if you ladies had luck with one I'd love to hear about it. Thanks
