Hey ladies! For the past year and a half, I've had the oilest skin! I don't wear foundation (just a bit of concealer and sometimes translucent powder), I moisturizer every morning and night with Cerave, I'm on Retin A, and I wash my face twice a day. I also have a good diet and exercise a lot. I don't want to have to keep buying blotting paper. What to do?? Setting sprays don't really work either 😭

Unfortunately if you naturally have oily skin then there's not much you can do to make it go from oily to normal, you'll always have oily skin. Personally I saw great results with my oiliness when I started using my Clarisonic, I use it at night and have been using it for about 2 years and while I still get oily throughout the day I'm not as oily as I used to be.

Assuming your skin is not irritated by something your oil production is largely controlled by hormones.
Make sure you're using SPF everyday, and for oily skin I highly recommend a salicylic acid product. Paula's Choice makes the best around, though I've been dabbling with CosRX and I enjoy their BHA liquid.

For the longest time I thought I had oily skin, but I discovered that I actually had sensitive skin that was overcompensating and overproducing oil because every face wash I used was too harsh. I eventually discovered that using solely micellar water for both makeup removing and plain old cleansing my face was amazing for my skin and my skin normalized and balanced out. Of course everyone's skin is different but it might be worth a shot for you! Can't say enough good things about micellar water, I use bioderma sensibio and/or simple's micellar water

I used to have really bad oily skin as well. I started using Clinique's 3 step skin care products (Type 4 for oily skin) and it significantly decreased the amount of oil my skin produced. I've been using it for several years now!
I live in the south and during the summer the humidity makes my skin even more oily. So I use charcoal masks (charcoal draws out the oil and helps refine your pores) to keep my skin in check. The ones that I've found that work the best are by Origins, Clinique, and L'Oreal.
