So within the past year I've noticed stretch marks on my stomach, and I'm not exactly sure the reason why I have them (no, I've never had kids.) Is there any effective way of getting rid of them?

Stretch marks are totally normal even if you don't have kids. They are caused by rapid weight gain, where the skin stretches too quickly for it to handle and it tears. Even gaining two pounds just a bit to quickly can cause them, or if your weight goes up and down naturally. Unfortunately, there's not much to do about them. I have a lot of stretch marks and I found this lotion, mixed with a bit of tretinion cream, and the use of a derma roller has helped a lot to fade them.

I found bio oil helps with stretch marks :)

Mederma helped to fade mine from red to white - but you can't really get rid of the white marks without cosmetic surgery or laser treatments - but honestly everyone has them - even thin models and celebrities - it's really not anything to ashamed of and honestly no one really notices them expect for ourselves because we see our bodies every day and it's easy for us to notice any changes to it - but I guarantee no one is looking at your stretch marks or cares about them more than you do - so the best thing to do is just ignore them and realize they are natural and just part of life for most of us :)

I agree with Diana (:
I have a few from my kid, they're clear/white on my lower stomach and I find that working out helps hide them!

I have some on my boobs, I hate them but that's just what happens to bodies when they go through growth spurts/gain weight. It's normal, don't be too concerned about it, likely every Person you've encountered will have stretch marks somewhere and that's completely normal, over time they'll fade and be less visible.
