I'm blaming it on the winter weather but my skin has been weird lately. My skin is only dry, tight and flaky (literally there are flakes of skin all over my face) after I wash it. But after I put all my skincare on it no longer feels tight, my natural oils come through once again and the flakes never reappear until I wash again. What's going on? I recently changed my cleanser to one that is gentler and with no sulfates which my previous cleanser had. Now my skin definitely does not have that tight feeling and finally feels normal but the flakes are still very much there. Will I have to exfoliate? If so how often? And do you have any suggestions? My skin is acne prone.

I'm just trying to follow, you've changed cleansers and your skin is dry, tight, and flakey after you cleanse or it's just flaky after you cleanse?

@Alexis C. After I've changed cleansers to the gentler one my skin is only flaky after washing. Not tight or dry.

Chemical exfoliation will put the kibosh on flaky skin if you get into a routine.
are you still experiencing breakouts?

@Leuca I get the normal hormonal pimples around my period but nothing popping up everyday like how it used to be.

Trying a low strength glycolic or lactic acid product may help your dryness.

Small amounts of E45 cream (which is so cheap and you can get anywhere) really worked for me. Hope this helps:)♡
