So i have extremely short eyelashes and i hate them, and i recently heard of putting vaseline on your eyelashes will make them grow. Is it true? Is it safe? How long does it take to see a difference?

I saw that on Pinterest and I tried it a few times and it made my eyes irritated, I have sensitive skin so that may be why.

No , do not do that , if anything take a supplement or latisse. Your eyelashes have follicles and need to breath ! Vaseline will just clog them. So invest into lash serum !

Lilash is the best serum I've ever used. It made my short thin lashes look like falsies!

Mineral Oil, Paraffin & Petrolatum – Petroleum products coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatological issues, like slowing cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer & Disruptive of hormonal activity

So basically. Don't use this at all. Especially on eyes. It's the most unhygienic product around. Dipping a dirty finger in and out of the little jar. Yuck

Vaseline DOES NOT clog pores!!!!! Research if you're going to give advice!
However I'd use coconut oil instead.

Alexia they are the exact same product so I don't see why the generic version would be any better. Vaseline is great for your lashes and DOESN'T CLOF PORES GIRLS

Yes they are the exact same thing.

I actually put vasaline on my eyelashes now! I have really sensative skin and it doesnt bother me but everyones skin is different. It didnt really make my eyelashes longer but i think it did make them healthier! They felt softer and didnt fall out as much. It wont hurt to try it!

@Ave M. I just started putting coconut oil on my lashes (just because I know it's great for just about every thing else so why not!) did this show a big improvement in your lashes? How much of an improvement and how quick did you see results :-) ?

I've just started using it on my lashes about two weeks ago. I've noticed them to be stronger and fuller (they are already long so I haven't seen much difference). I did switch mascaras and they seem longer but that could be because if the mascara. I tend to not pay a huge amount of attention to my lashes.
It's definitely made them stronger though.

So is the Vaseline or petroleum jelly affective on making lashes longer or no?

For some people it works, and for some people it doesnt work

If you apply it carefully and without getting it in you eye, then of courss not!! why would it be dangerous???

I've never used it on eyes but if your lips are really dry I just dip a q-tip in Vaseline and apply it like lip gloss.

If it works please share your results....I just have a phobia of putting petroleum by-products on my skin!

I usually put it on my lashes before bed, after taking eye makeup off and although to say they've been longer would be jumping the gun bc growth like that takes time to see. I would say they have been softer and make putting on mascara a breeze therefore making them look longer and fuller.
