I've been following blogs and watching videos that tell me to use a shade slightly lighter than your skin tone for undereye concealer. yet no matter what brand I try, drugstore or high end, I'm still gettin lines or Cakey or the worst: reverse raccoon eyes where my undereyes are paler than my face. anyone have this problem?

Do you set it

I would suggest a product that matches your skin tone with words like brightening/illuminating in the name :) this should help draw light to that area without such a stark contrast.

Just do what I do, bring it down to your cheek area, say it's highlighting & call it a day. XD

No but really, you should ALWAYS set your under eye concealer. Press it in with a puff or even a large brush. DON'T swipe it or dust it on, your creasing will still appear.
They say to use a shade lighter under your eyes to make the under eye area brighter. You're highlighting the area, if you bring it down a bit down to your cheek area & blend it properly, you can achieve that famous Kim K look.

If you don't really need it don't use it.
