So I used to bite my nails a lot. When I get acrylics on I stop biting them, the urge goes away. When I get them taken off I go back to biting them, even if I've had the acrylics on for months. I don't bite them as much but it's still annoying. I'm a massage therapist so my nails need to be short and clean. I can and I have had medium length nails done but I do a lot of deep tissue and the long nail makes it harder to do that. I got my nails taken off maybe a month ago. The lady couldn't get three of them off so she just filed them down to my normal nail length. If I were to go to a nail place and get them done, would they make them that short? I'm only asking because I'm not sure if they'll do it, and because anytime I've told them that I needed short nails, they look at me like I'm crazy.

Of course they could do it. you probably got attitude because its harder or something... but youre the customer and you're paying so they should do it. I've seen people who work in nursing and stuff who have super short acrylics.

Have you ever tried gel? it's more healthier and don't use all that glue and stuff

They'll likely try to push you into getting them longer but they'll do it! I hate long nails on myself so I always get them really short. They judge me but oh well lmao.

Ask for "sport" length :)

Thank you ladies.
To star D: I will bite the gel off. It's not hard enough to stop me from actually getting to my nail.

Have you tried DIY press ons? The brand Kiss has short ones and you can always cut/file them to the length and shape that you want and it won't be as expensive and won't damage your nails like acrylics do.

You should look into silk nail wraps!
