So I just bleached my hair and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened (I've bleached my hair many times before) my hair is so fried that even running my fingers through it will take pieces out. is there any way to keep my hair from breaking off? I know I'll have to baby it and stuff, but I mean is there any way to keep it from chunks immideatley falling out!? thank you all in advance!!

Could have something to do with your thyroid. Same thing happens with my sister

I think some hair loss is normal for many of us, however if your concerned I would just contact your doctor.

I think it's just going to take time and patience. be sure to deep condition each time you wash. just because you've done it many times before doesn't mean you can't have different results. you just have to know how to adjust and take care of your hair each time. conditioning is key.

I would deep condition and do protein treatment once bi weekly. If it's reached the "gummy" stage you can't make it better and your best bet is to cut it off as much as possible as quickly as possible (I usually recommend two inches once a month to help ease the transition)

Basically I think the disulfide bonds in your hair have been broken by the time it's so damaged that it feels "gummy." I would see if there's a salon near you that does olaplex treatments. Supposedly olaplex somehow fills in the gaps/broken disulfide bonds, I don't know how it works but you could do some research. I royally fucked up my hair too, and I'm going to try doing that before I go ahead and chop it all off.

Try restoring damaged hair with a deep conditioning hair mask and also do hot oil treatment every week.

OMG I suggest you go to Sallys right now and get the Aphogee 2 step protein treatment! It saved my hair after bleaching. step 1 adds lost protein back and step 2 deep conditions!
