Hi ladies! I am getting laser hair removal today right above the lip. I wasn't thinking this morning, and I used First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. It's a toner and exfoliator. Should I cancel my appointment?! I'm afraid it's going to ruin my skin.

The place I'm going to just says you can't tan or use tanning products. Nothing about using chemical exfoliators.

Phone now and explain, they will know better than anyone on Beautylish will about how this may effect you. Every place may have a different technique so definitely phone or email or message them before. :)

To be on the safe side I would call and ask them, they will definitely be able to tell you if they think it's better to make a new appointment!

@Sabrina I love laser hair removal I actually do it myself and have great results. I've been wanting to get electrolysis done on my upper lip.

I did a know it was something you could do yourself!! How does that work Shauna? And is there any pain while do little it?

It's definitely pricey I think I paid about $550 but it definitely does work. I use the bellalite hair removal system. you start off with less intense "levels" and do it once a week for about 4 weeks. then you can turn up the level and start doing it every month. a lot of people experience pain from laser hair removal but I've never experienced pain. it does sometimes burn for about 2 seconds on very sensitive areas such as the bikini and underarms. it send a pulse of light down the hair shaft, it's very quick and easy. you basically just shave before you do it and that's all the preparation you need. results start to show after about 6 months but it's worth it. the one I use is suggested more for people that have light skin and dark hair.

I agree with Shauna. I had my upper lip treated with laser. Unfortunately it did not work for me, it was weird, the lady always told me to put my tongue between my teeth and my lip but whith every shot of the laser I felt a really strange sensation like inside my teeth, I know it is weird. after several sessions my hair was still there so I gave up because I saw no diference. I have to say I used laser removal in my full legs and underarms and bikini area and the treatment was a succes. Then I changed to IPL and I have to say it it much less painful than laser, I had done what was left of my underarms and arms with that technique. Opposed to laser, the IPL is very effective even if your skintone and haircolor are both light.

I had laser and lamp. I wasted a lot of money on this. It was done at a dermatologist. I have fair skin and dark thick hair. I really suggest you guys pass. It's too much money for a stupid gamble that usually doesn't work.

I'm glad it was ok! I've never had any issues with using products before the laser, I try to remember but I do forget sometimes. I LOVE laser hair removal. Awesome results.

Laser definitely takes a lot of time and can be costly. for anyone looking into getting a small amount of hair removed I definitely recommend looking into electrolysis which is a lot faster.
