I never tried the one from Neutrogena but have tried the one from RoC. Actually used it for several years. If used correctly and religiously...Retinol can do wonders...tighten up pores, assist with hyperpigmentation. Just be sure that for daytime you ultilize an SPF so you don't lose your positive results. It takes about 4-6 weeks before you see a huge difference in your skin so patience is vital.

I like Neutrogena, but they have been elusive with regard to the percentage of Retinol in their products.
If I, personslly, had around 40 to spend, I'd opt for Glycolic Acid as a starting point rather than Retinol. You will see results faster and need less product. You are chemically exfoliating and encouraging cell turnover while evening out skin tone, fading scars and brightening your complexion..leaving plump, glowing skin. If you decide to go that route, bear in mind that not everyone's skin is suited for every product, so I advise to proceed with caution and begin every 3rd day..applying CeraVe PM moisturizer after the cream has set in. I'd use an alcohol-free toner after cleansing with a gentle, hydrating wash. (CeraVe/Cetaphil wash & Thayers aloe toner for example) You can adjusy frequency to your skin. If you don't moisturize, you'll dry out. This will also combat acne, if that's an issue.
Always always use broad spectrum sunscreen. As you save funds, you can incorporate more effective Retinol percentages and Vitamin C serum.
If you order it TODAY, they are having a 20% off online coupon sale, so you can get a broad spectrum sunscreen as well and still have money to pick up CeraVe Cream. (jar)

If you bought the product you are inquiring about, you can use it alternately. Remember to ease into whichever you choose and always test patch.
Good luck!

Retinol or even Retin A script has never stung on me. Acids, yes, but only lightly upon first application and it was very mild and did not linger.
