Heller! so, it may seem like a silly question, but I've never really thought to ask. I have heard it's best to match the bases in your primer and foundation, silicone with silicone oil with oil. but what about water based? can something water based be mixed with a silicone base? I would assume an oil base would cause it to seperate, but correct me if I'm wrong. And water and water based would obviously be best, right?

Hey Aleena, I would imagine that a water based foundation with a silicone based primer won't work well together.
Beautylish member and pro MUA offers great advice on primers on this thread. http://www.beautylish.com/t/icqxvm/silicone-water-based-foundations-and-primers

It probably won't work as well unless they have the same base. I personally use a water/silicone blend based foundation and primer and it works great on my skin.

I use Embryolisse, which is oil based, for priming often and pair it with MUFE Face and Body and have had no issues. Maybe it is because the foundation is gel - like in consistency and coverage is not heavy?
I also use a silicone based sun protective primer with my MUFE water based formula. I don't own any water-based primers, but now I am curious!
