I appreciated what Tia said on that thread because she stood up for something she felt was wrong.

I agree with honesty and I also agree with empathy. It shouldn't be difficult to give an opinion or criticism without being snide or superior. If it is difficult, maybe threads aren't your place.

I also think if someone asks your opinion and you don't like it, it is totally fine to say you don't like it, but I've seen some pretty rude and hateful comments, that is something I don't like. But I'm not necessarily talking about threads. Also, in person. When a girl with bright red hair and piercings walk by and I hear people call her disgusting, that's what I have a huge problem with.

Don't expect people to not judge, it's a human trait to judge. You see before you know. And when you say you have a problem with people having an opinion on bright red hair and piercinga then that's not fair, to some stuff like that is disgusting. It's just people's views on others, you can't get mad at those who feel that way.

It is a human trait, but it doesn't have to be. With all means, GO AHEAD and think its disgusting, I can not control you. I said I personally do not like when people put down a person to their face about how they decide to look. This is MY opinion. It is human to think, so go ahead and THINK it's disgusting or ugly, or gross. Go ahead and judge. But I, I repeat, In MY opinion, think it is not right to put someone down and tear them to shreds because of their appearance.

I hear ya Courtney. I dye my hair red often and my nose is pierced. There's a difference between "oh that look is not for me" and " that's disgusting". The second is just being rude!!!!!!!!!

Exactly! You don't have to like it, but don't hate or spew hateful comments to those who are different!!

I love this. We should not judge people. I'm glad you posted this because I just went back and forth with a girl on here because she offended me talking about having piercings and I went off. This really calmed me down and helped me remember the true meaning of this website. I love it! Everyone should read this.

Some people don't agree, but that's fine. I'm happy some people think the same way as me. If you think something is gross or ugly you have all the rights to think that, ALL I'm saying is to not destroy someones being because of it. I'm glad it helped Candice :)

I just made a video about this as well! Its sooooo important. You don't know what a person is going through when you bully and disrespect them.

Yes! That's my whole point! I wasn't pointing anyone out or saying it's bad to have an opinion, I just think it's so wrong to belittle someone or tear them apart! And I'm sure no one on this post does, and I'm sure they all kindly share their opinions.

The art community can be a very cruel place but one chooses to participate. In beauty everyone participates whether they realize it or not- it's not a choice. To make unsolicited criticisms of someone's style, challenges, risks, etc. is a very personal attack and very hurtful. It makes beauty a very ugly thing. I'm sure nobody joined here to be judged or attacked. We are all in a process of self love. One can share that or not but don't trample someone else journey.

Yay I love you :) lol I think it's fine to express your opinion I just think people should chose their words wisely when expressing it so it doesn't seem so mean to others.
