Okay, so not only on this website but multiple other places, I see and hear people bashing other people because of their looks or their fashion, makeup, hair, etc. Last time I checked, Beauty and Fashion is an art. Art comes from within, it comes from who you are. So why should anyone judge that? If you want to have tattoos from head to toe, bright make up everyday, rainbow hair.. GO FOR IT! That's who you are.
I understand everyone has an opinion, but there is no reason to judge or dislike someone for the way they choose to express themselves. Beautylish is a place where we can see other people use their creativity and appreciate it. We might not strive to look like they do, but we can admire and appreciate their work or their choices in appearance.
Music, Make up, Fashion, Hair, Nails... They are all a form of art. I don't see any reason to judge another person because of the art they create. I think we should all try and think out of our box, and appreciate every style, look and person.
RANT over.
To anyone that read this, Thank you.

Said it perfectly. There's some people on websites like this who genuinely want to encourage and help people, but a lot of people reject others' fashion statements because it's not what they like or what they're used to.

Amen!
I couldn't of said it anymore perfectly. Everyone is different, everyone has there own scents of themselves.
If everyone was that same, what would be different?
:)

that's exactly how I see it. we don't trash Leonardo de Vinci about the Mona Lisa, why trash someone about their personality. I've allways found make up as a way of describing who you are and what you believe in. it is, in fact, art. :)

It's sad to read others putting anyone down for their personal style. Little do they know that by being so narrow-minded, they are actually limiting themselves and will never reach their full potential as artists. I find it best to pity these people- they are unable to fully embrace the beauty in others and makeup as an art form itself.

Exactly Erica, it's just limiting themselves.
I'm sorry Olivia, hopefully you continue to be yourself :)

I'm not saying its ok to judge people based off their fashion etc choices, but if someone asks for an opinion, it's not helpful for everyone just to say it looks good. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if people ask for it, they should expect to get mixed reactions. Or did something specific happen that I didn't see?

Ok I have to throw something out there as well... You'll notice in the art community people have VERY strong opinions about what they find appealing or not. Shouldn't it be the same here? I find it hard to accept that NO negative opinions are considered legitimate. I'm not saying it's ok to go on like some do and make cruel and childish comments, shouldn't it be ok to talk about all angles though?

People who judge others deserving sorrows)....

Like I said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and have the right to disagree or not like something. I'm saying it's not right to put someone down or for example what I saw, call someone "disgusting". I'm not talking about the people who are ASKING for opinions, I am talking about the people who are simply themselves And get judged for it. I know their are strong opinions in the art community but to me I appreciate all kinds of art because there is beauty behind everything. But, maybe that is just me.

I for one was saying things that I disliked, but I agree for the most part with this. But I also agree with Alyse and Maggie. If we don't like something, then we do have a right to say we don't in a civilized manner. We weren't naming names or calling one specific person out. I don't think that we're entirely in the wrong, but I do agree with what you are saying.

Yes, I think it is totally fine to state your opinion nicely if asked. And polite, constructive criticism is alright too.
