Best translucent setting powder, or just a good powder?

I have the makeup forever setting powder, and when I apply it, it looks like it just drags of the foundation under my eyes. Does anybody know why? I don't have a picture of it, but is it something I am doing wrong or? Pretty confused, the first time I used it it looked flawless. I changed brush, can that be the problem?

You're dabbing and not sweeping the brush, right? I've the same problem but with the RCMA powder. Definitely consider the brush used, big fluffy ones work the best for powder. The powder that ticks all the boxes for me is Chanel's Poudre Universelle Libre. :)

If the brush is too dense and you're using it to do a light dusting then it'll be wiping off the base before the powder can set it.

I prefer using a powder puff to lightly put on some powder by Doing the press/roll and then use a loose fluffy brush to dust off any excess powder.

Denser brushed are better for powder foundations, creams and liquids and also for blotting powders throughout the day.
They're not that great for setting your makeup though

Marcelle face powder is my holy grail! Soaks up oil and removes all the shine without ruining my makeup!! Can put as much on but you still can't tell its there. Amazing product.

I use the translucent powder by covergirl and I've been using it for 3 years and I love it!

Laura mercier is good! also try using a damp sponge applicator to apply it.

I absolutely love my Clinique powder in 08 Transparency Neutral. I've been using it for over a year now and I still love it. I also recently purchased the MUFE HD Powder and I'm really impressed with how smooth it leaves my skin. As for brushes, a while ago, I had been using just an Elf Kabuki Brush that I purchased from Target. I loved it. I switched brushes for no apparent reason and started using my Real Techniques Blush Brush and it's an even better pick.
