So I'm just curious, how do you guys feel about the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and the Urban Decay Primer Potion for eyeshadow? Are they similar or is one better than the other for different things? Which do you prefer?

I really like the too faced eye insurance and their insurance candlelight eye primer for shimmer and gilded shadow looks. I also have the UD potion primer but I don't use it because for some reason it made my lids too dry versus smooth like TF insurance does. I also find that TF truly helps with lasting power and gives a hint of vibrant hue to a shadow shade. :)

I preffer Too Faced primer since, in my opinion, adds much more longevity to the eyeshadows than UD's. I have hooded and oily eyelids, and with UD the eyeshadow and liner would crease :(
I believe none of these evens out the tone nor make more potent the color. If that's what you're looking for, I suggest Benefit Stay Don't Tray.

I find that the TF primer is much more watery, and I had to sort of knead the tube to mix it up before using it a lot. I never experienced that with UD primer. However, I have never really experienced creasing or have never felt that any primer helped more with longevity than other primers. I am currently using Cover FX's anti-age smoothing primer and I really enjoy that, too.

I prefer the Too Faced Shadow Insurance over the UD Primer Potion. For me, the UD Primer potion was very greasy, It felt like an oil slick between my fingers... I've been using the Too faced Shadow Insurance for a while now, and I have no complaints: Lightweight, creates a nice barrier for the shadow to extend the wear, and no matter what shadow formula you use, it won't crease up on you. It's good stuff. :)

Shadow Insurance is my holy grail. I cannot live without it. No other primer has worked for me like that one has - I have really oily & hooded lids & shadows would always crease on me with other primers - not Shadow Insurance.

I prefer the primer potion, because the shadow insurance creases on me every single time regardless of how I apply it. Honestly though, wet n wild make a primer that is $5 in a white tube (sorry not sure of the exact name) that I love much more than either of the higher end ones!

If you have a Nordstrom rack near you, I just saw they had original, lemon drop, and maybe champagne TF shadow insurance for like 12 bucks.

Anna I've actually heard great things about that new wet n wild eye primer and actually going to buy it to try it out. :)

I like both but I feel like they both compare easily to drugstore primers I've tried. I prefer the urban decay because the too faced creases on me on hot days but the urban decay is greasy like Jacqueline mentioned and it dries grainy and rough on my lid. so they each have their cons. I have hooded eyelids that are pretty normal but they get sweaty. both of these primers extend the wear time of my eyeshadows and help them apply more vibrant. elf is a little dry but that and the milani do just the same as the shadow insurance and the primer potion. I haven't splurged on too many eye primers but the only one I'd buy again that's high end is the nars. I absolutely love that one. I also tried the taste clean slate and was disappointed.

I'll have to check it out. I do like other benefit products I've tried.
