How often should you exfoliate your skin? I have dry skin down the center of my face (a little on the forehead, on my nose and chin). I can never seem to go one or two days before the dryness comes back again. I use jojoba oil twice a day. I'm worried if I exfoliate everyday I could over exfoliate my skin :(

What is your current routine, including products? That would be a big help for finding where you may be bringing on additional dryness as well as maybe missing the opportunity to replenish moisture. You want to replace and help strengthen that skin barrier...always a delicate balance.

I use the cerave hydrating cleanser, a paulas choice toner (I thinks it's called skin balancing or something like that), the manuka doctor spot treatment both gel and cream, jojoba oil and cerave cream for the dry parts of my skin.

I don't see an exfoliant in your routine. Is this the Api spot treatment?

Oh sorry I forgot to say I exfoliate with a muslin cloth with my cleanser every couple of days and yeah it is the api spot treatment.

I learned that you should use a physical exfoliater once a week and an AHA or BHA exfoliant everyday.

I have the paulas choice bha and I use it a couple times a week if I don't use the muslin cloth. I think I need the aha though as I can get flakey on my chin if I use it too often.

I'f skin is dry right now, keep my BHA to once weekly, topping it with my rich moisturizer.
That API treatment has a ton of denatured alcohol in it. it's the 2nd main ingredient not to mention high fragrance and the added potential irritant for sensitive skin, Royal Jelly. I personally think it's not a good choice. Terribly drying.

Thank you Rozberry, I will look out for a different spot treatment :)

You should use AHA to exfoliate, it's much more gentle and skip the cloth. You won't need it any more if you exfoliate chemically.
