Hi Natalie, I have a few questions before I can answer yours, if you don't mind:
Do you still have active acne?
What's your skin type?
What is your current skincare routine?
Do you have a budget?

I think combination is my skin type! I get oily in the summer, dry in the winter. I wash my face with a Clinique face wash. Also put lotion on everyday. I have a prescription acne cream I use at night. My acne is pretty much cleared at this point just have some light scars I need to work on. No budget but if a drug store product works just as well as a high end product then I'll usually go with that:)

Well, exfoliation can certainly help with acne scars, but be careful because exfoliation and acne creams combined can really dry your skin out. Personally, I have two favorite exfoliants and neither are cheap, because both use enzymes instead of physical scrubby bits. one is the ExfoliKate treatment by Kate Somerville; I bought the travel sized, $19 one and it lasted me for several months, because I only used it 1-2 times a week. The other one that I really enjoy is the Tatcha Rice Enzyme Exfoliator, which is, again, expensive, but it requires so little with each use that it lasts forever.
These are similar products, in terms of what they do, and neither require a lot of harsh scrubbing or rubbing at your skin, but when you wash them off you definitely feel like your skin is smoother, cleaner, generally nicer.

It's a little pricey, but I would try a spinbrush and a face wash that works for you. You can by a spinbrush from Mary Kay. They are pretty pricey- about $50... If you do have a budget and don't have the money for one, you could try using sea sponge, they are great exfoliaters... You could also grab a body wash puff and use a little flap from it and run it where you need to exfoliate. I hope this helped :)

A cheaper option would be the AHA products by Alpha Hydrox and a vitamin C serum. Apply sunblock everyday even if it's cloudy!!
