I have the one with the digital read out, and absolutely love it. My hair is thick and heavy past my shoulders. it's not curly but really wavy and doesn't look nice unless I use my Babyliss.

I have the Ultra Thin and love it! I got mine in a set at Ulta that came with a hair dryer for the same price.

Even though your hair is longer when you straighten it, I would suggest not getting any bigger than 1" so you can still get close to the roots without having an out of place bump so I'd go with the ultra thin.
