Do you have thick or thin hair and is it fine?

Have you tried that texturizing powder or dry shampoo then I put my head upside down and take my bristly brush and back comb my crown like mad. give a few pumps of aerosol hair spray fingers to poof then stand up straight and spray my bristly brush with hair spray and tame it down. once down I give a once over with just a felxi hold finishing spray to keep it neat.

My hair is pretty thick and it takes a lot of time and back combing to get any noticeable poof on me. but I found being upside down helped a lot.

Take the hair in horizontal sections and back comb it with a barber comb. Start an inch away from the ends and drag the comb all the way down to the roots. Do that a few times until you have a nice cushion, spray with a volume finishing spray, then move on to the section below. Do 3 or 4 rows and you should have a nice poof. :)

Sorry sweets I do parts... so I'll start off with the very top of my crown then side and side and then back of crown. then flip and smooth...

What hairspray do you use?

What about blow drying your hair upside down? flip you hair over your head (while bending down) and dry from the bottom up. that may help with the other suggestions
