My hair is wavy when it is longer, so I decided to enhance the texture by maybe investing in a hair curler.

So, I was wondering what kinds of curls (tighter, looser, beachy) should I get, as well as the corresponding hair curler (I.e: barrel size).

Thanks!

The curls Kat suggested is probably a 2" or 1 1/2" barrel. I agree that they would look good on you.

I use a 2in barrel for loose beach waves! I have found that they looked great on both my long hair and (now) shorter hair! I have a conair iron. Actually, instead of going out and buying a new iron, I took the barrel off of my iron to use it as a wand! You could try that out with an iron you already have, if you have one!

A 2in barrel is great. If section off your hair (sounds weird because you have short hair), it would make your hair look thicker. Do a bottom layer, where you put the top half of your hair away from the areas you curl and curl it. Then flip your hair around and use a sea salt spray like the one from Not Your Mother's (very inexpensive and has amazing results) all over to have amazing beach waves. If your hair doesn't hold a curl well then use a hair spray and shake your head while doing this. It will add

And because all of that product buildup I suggest rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar to get rid of it and make your hair shiny, which looks amazing with the curl. But always put a leave-in conditioner in hair to make your hair less dry and a heat protector spray to make sure there isn't so much damage. For a more natural look I suggest an iron without a clamp and just wrap the hair around with your hair.
