I feel like no matter what I do, I always have brittle short nails and frayed cuticles.
I use the Essie protein base coat when I paint my nails. I use coconut oil on my cuticles every other night. I even let my nails breathe sometimes and not polish them for days.
No matter what I do I can never seem to get strong healthy nails! My nails are always so thin and chip whenever I paint them :( any advice?

You could try a Diy to make them grow. A tip is to buy a strengthening polish remover when you remove the nail polish. For cuticles I just cut mine and if I pick at them I put tape around it. I know it's kinda weird but it helps me. Another tip is that nails grow faster if they're cut rounded and not squared.

Thanks Tia! I avoid cutting my cuticles because I heard it's really bad for them!
Thanks Yesenia! I used to take biotin a few years ago for my hair so I'll look into it again!

Once I finally decided to stop spending all my money on fake nails it took me years to get them to not flak, and break all the time. last year I started using the Perfect Formula repair coat (I buy it at Sephora) I use one coat before I paint my nails. It's recommend to clean and reply each week. I use a cuticle oil and rub it in before I do any filing. My nail polish looks a lot better, so do my nails. yes they still break once in a while, but usually only when I've been working on my car or something like that??
About once a month I will use the Butter London cuticle eliminater to get them cleaned up. Also keeping them moisturized is a great thing. You can use Vaseline under your nails before bed.
Hope some of this helps!
