Hi everyone!
I'm currently a cosmetology student and looking to work at Sephora after graduation to get my foot in the door within the makeup industry.
I was just wondering what kind of experiences anyone has had working there(good/bad), favorite thing about working for Sephora and the interview process.
Also the position I'm looking at is Beauty Studio Coordinator and was curious how different that would be compared to a Makeup Advisor.
Also, I don't graduate for another 5 months so I'm debating on applying for the job now or not since I know they don't hire a lot of full-time positions near me.
Any tips/advice will be appreciated 😊

Hey Bailey! So I've worked for Sephora for almost 3 years. Sephora doesn't require any experience in the beauty industry but obviously having a background in it is very helpful. The interviewing process is a combination of 3 interviews, the first is typically a group interview, the second will be an interview with the store director or specialist, and the last is a demo based on the world that they place you in. Worlds are color, skincare, and fragrance. Beauty studio coordinator is the person in charge of what services take place at the beauty studio, keeps track of metrics, and helps other color cast members with anything they may need while assisting clients. Beauty studio coordinator may get certified and perform custom makeovers as well. You'll be very lucky if they hire you right away for this position but if you don't have much experience in some form of leadership it's unlikely and it's something you may work towards once hired as a color cast member. Sephora as a company looks for people that have passion, work well as a team, and of course know how to build and close a basket and have thorough but quick consultations. It's an amazing company to work for, the gratis (free stuff) is always a plus! I'd apply right now since most stores will be hiring for seasonal. I started off as seasonal and then became permanent. Most people start off that way. Goodluck! :)
