Hi beauties! So, I start my new job tomorrow at State Farm Insurance company. I'm super excited - yet nervous.
Anyways! I need some ideas on how to do the whole shabang- hair, makeup, outfit. This will also help me long term as I plan to work there, long term.
I've never had a super professional job, so I need to look nice at all times and could use all the inspiration I could get, outside of Pinterest lol.
I wore dark wash skinny jeans for my interview - tastefully - with some heeled booties, and a blazer, and they loved my attire! So in a sense, it's laid back there - I like the trendy yet professional look. :)

Congrats! I'm sure you're going to gain a lot of experience :D
I would do a not so dramatic makeup, since it could seem laid back, but still it's a corporate environment in which you have to look professional. A discreet cat eye, and a "my lips but better" lipstick would do fine for the first couple of days. Take a look on how the girls do their makeup, check if there's no code about it and then you could start wearing "more fun" colors.
As for clothing, I agree with using similar outfits as the one you wore for the interview. It's a no no to wear skirts/dresses that are way above your knees; also avoid cleavage (you shouldn't be able to see the line between your boobs), no leggings as if they were pants and if there's any sheer top, wear a cami under it.
I know it sounds like an advice from a grandma, but it's better to go on the safe side the first days so you can have a better idea.
Finally: confidence is the best thing you can wear :)

Meg, thank you. :) yes, I love Charlotte Russe Blazers! They're so cute! I'm thinking about wearing something similar, but with dress pants and heels this time! I love the eye look. I may do something similar, just tone down the crease color. :)
Thanks babe! Yes, of course! I need sleeved shirts to cover my shoulder tattoo. I was thinking about doing a sleek high pony, but with curls! Think I may.
Lara, thank you. :) great advice actually! I'm going to try to keep makeup to a minimum. I don't wanna be too overdressed at first, but I don't wanna be bland either!

Well first of all, congratulations on your new job! That's very exciting! I've spent most of my professional life working in corporate environments so I definitely understand your desire to look both office-appropriate and stylish at the same time. It's totally doable and an opportunity to get creative and have fun :)
Since your skinny jeans and blazer with heels outfit was a success, you're already on the right track when it comes to putting together neat and professional looking attire. I would find out (they'll more than likely tell you anyway) what the company dress code is and use that as a guideline and then tailor your own personal style around it. I used to wear things like colored or plain black skinny jeans with a sweater and knee boots, or feminine dresses with a long lightweight cardigan over it and riding boots, maxi dresses in a nice jersey fabric, and well made black pants with a pretty top and high heels.
I think the most important thing in this setting however, is to be polished at all times. That is generally more important than what you're actually wearing. And it's the reason why your interview outfit was such a hit. That is a very neat, very polished look. Also pay attention to details like your clothes being ironed, your nails not being chipped, your hair not being messy, etc. That's what I mean by polished. It makes SUCH a huge difference in the way we are perceived by others. But it's probably safe to say that you wouldn't even be here on Beautylish if you weren't already on top of these things anyway so you know what to do :)
I'm sure whatever you decide it will be lovely! Best of luck tomorrow! :)
