Tarteist Lip Paint help!!

So I bought it in the shade frenememy which is a gorgeous vampy color similar to damned by Kat Von D but when I apply it it's blotchy and no matter if I put thin layers or thick layers, with lip liner and without. I can't figure out how to use it so I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue and has figured out how to wear it. Or if I should just return it.

Idk sounds to me it's just crappy lipstick. The reviews of that lipstick are usually very good, I'd return it and tell them what happened and see what they say👌🏽

Yeah like it doesn't seem to "stick" to the lips. Like the nyx creme mattes are better than the tarte one.

I am not a fan of tartes formula. Your experience is exactly what my friends and I who have bought this found out. Super patchy, doesn't stay on, and doesn't dry.

I have a few of them and have never had that issue. It applies smoothly and very opac with no blotchiness. I have two in my purse as go tos if I do my makeup on the go because they apply great first try, last long and don't smear easily.

I would definitely try returning it and getting a new one. Sounds like the formula didn't get mixed up right.

Sometimes with liquid formulas you can get good and bad batches and depending on the colour the formula can vary, see if you csn exchange it or try swatching a different one.
