I picked my face way to much from pimples and it leads to open cuts or sores what can I apply on them to help my skin recover/restore faster.

Hey :) I too have this problem. The best you can do is cover it with bandaids and neosporin (so you resist the urge to pick at the sores). Also keep your skin well moisturized. When the sores get smaller, applying honey seems to make them heal faster to me. Also, it helps for me to know what triggers my skin picking. Usually it's anxiety and boredom. What I do is keep things I can fidget with by my bedside and where I do homework. So that if I get the urge to pick, I can just squeeze a stress ball instead. I'm also going to invest in this bracelet called Slightly Robot. It's designed to detect when your hands move towards your face and will vibrate to warn you not to pick at it. It also coordinates with the App Store, so you can track your progress on your skin picking, like how many times you resisted picking and things like that. I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, you can comment on my page.

Also, once the sores start to heal and form a scab (and aren't inflamed, it's best to put some neosporin on without the bandaid so that the wound can get air. And only have the bandaids on when you feel the urge to pick, and when you're sleeping.

I would go to your dermatologist. If you pick them in your sleep you have the same thing I do, but I can't remember what it is called. I also suggest to put a rubber band or a hair tie on your wrist so whenever you feel the urge to pick just snap it.

My daughter has something like this and it is called dermaticamania, it has been diagnosed by a dr, she started with her scalp about 5 years ago moved to her eyelashes and now her chest and underarms, it is usually associated with anxiety add/adhd and depression with ocd. We all pick at our faces I know I always have but I can control it, but she can not. It is slowly getting better with meds and various councilor treatment, but she still has flare ups. When we have a good time we start to heal them with vitamin e oil, spray bactine and like said above neosporian. One time it was so bad she had to go on antibiotics for a while. Eventually the scars fade and the dr says once she stops picking completely she can go on retin a cream to help fade the scars. I'm in No way saying you have this just wanted to share some advice

I believe I have dermatillomania although I haven't been diagnosed. I too started on my scalp but then moved on to my face. What kind of meds is she using if you don't mind me asking?

No problem not at all she is on an antidepressant called prozac, it helps quite a bit but she still has a very tough time, it seems to give her the ability to control herself a little more (:
