Hi ladies!!

So I'm basically on a quest to find the perfect highlighting brush lol. I would love to know what are some of the brushes you ladies use and swear by to give you the perfect glow!! The brush I'm currently using is way to stiff and the bristles are too harsh so it packs on too much product for my liking and doesn't blend well.

Can't wait to hear your responses and thank you in advance!!

I use bdellium fan brush for my highlight, it soft enough to give subtle glow without looking harsh

I use the Real Techniques Fan Brush and it blends product onto the skin beautifully and doesn't apply too much (:

I use the eco tools deluxe fan brush. It's cheap but it's a super big brush that's really soft. It picks up just enough product and has enough bristles to really get the product blended out. I have the real techniques one as well but I find that one to be a bit too small and doesn't have enough bristles on it to really blend the product to my liking.

I use 3 brushes for highlighting depending on the product. From L-R,
1. Bare Minerals Light Stroke Fan brush for a high intensity powder highlighter. This brush helps not distribute too much at once.
2. Laura Geller Angled Duo Fiber for cream highlighter.
3. Morphe M438 for a low intensity highlight or for precise application of a high intensity highlighter.

Kayla Marie, I agree on the RT fan brush being too small. Maybe because because my favorite highlighters are firmly packed. I like the Laura Geller Gelato Highlighter, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks & the Tarte Exposed highlighter. All of these are firmly packed and are not powdery. I feel they require a brush with more & denser bristles to pick up the product. Flimsier brushes are better for more powdery products that pick up much more easily. I can see where the RT fan would be better with say my Mac Soft & Gentle or Becca Powder highlighters. Here is the difference between my Bare Minerals brush on the left and a duo fiber brush like the RT fan.

Thank you Sam R.!! I always love a blended highlight, I hate harsh lines. Thank you Alexis C. ☺ I've actually been trying to find the real techniques fan brush but I can't find it in Canada sadly and even when I was in Florida I didn't see it sadly.
Kayla Marie, thanks for your response love! Where did you purchase the eco tools brush??

Marleen B., thank you soo much for your detailed response!! The picture is great too, really helps me distinguish the type of brush used for each type of highlight and the desired intensity. I'm drawn to the shape of the Morphe brush as that was something along the lines aI was originally looking for, I feel like I can blend and control the highlighter best with a brush like that! The 2 highlighters I have at home are both by Becca- Champagne Pop and Opal! So they're more powdery in consistency than the others that you've mentioned?? I've always wanted to try the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks😍 sadly they don't sell Laura Geller in Canada. What do you prefer about the highlighters you've mentioned over Becca's? Thanks so much love!

Thank you ladies!! I like a strong but blended highlight so I think I've narrowed it down to 2 choices. Here's a picture of how I wear my highlight, don't mind how oily the rest of my face is, I'm always oily lol.

I used to use the real techniques fan brush but I got the luxie tapered highlight brush in an Ipsy bag and have never looked back.

I use an Eco Tools fan brush for highlighting and I LOOOOVE it! It is so soft and picks up the right amount of product for me to glow for the gods. I actually love all my Eco Tools brushes, they are always the first ones I reach for.

Rachala, I like the Laura Geller Gelato (medium intensity, but can be built up to high ) & the Tarte Exposed (low-med intensity) because both of these highlighters don't accentuate texture on the skin. The skin on my cheekbones is not as smooth as I would like it and most highlighters will accentuate it. Powdery highlighters have a thicker consistency that leave a thicker layer on the skin, even if you apply lightly on textured skin, they clump up in concave area of the skin and lay flatter on the even area of the skin, if that makes any sense. The BB shimmer brick can accentuate textured skin if I'm not careful But it is firmly packed and has somewhat of a gritty feel when swatched but it gives such a high intensity wet glow, so 'm just extra careful with it.

The morphe 510 or 501 (same shape & density, different materials) are amazing. Firm enough to pick up a good amount, but fluffy enough to blend it out.

There's a gorgeous luxie tapered highlighting brush you can buy, the handle is like a Cinderella blueish purple, I have three of them, they are AMAZING.

Fave drugstore highlighting brush is the Real Techniques Setting Brush.

Higher end brushes include the Wayne Goss #2, Chikuhodo T5, and Chikuhodo Passion Series PS3 Highlight.

I like to use elf's studio blush brush. It's the perfect size to highlight and it's only $3.
