Nothing I have found. My tips:
*Stay out of the sun
*Sunscreen EVERYDAY
*Hat if you can & big sunglasses.
*Try to avoid birth control pills or anything with female hormones in including IUD.
As far as products go, I have been seeing slow progress of fading my melasma with daily vitamin c serum & Sunday Riley Luma Oil & Good Genes. I have heard good reviews on Murad Lightening Serum, but it has hydroquinone in it, so I'm trying avoid that one. But I may try it, if I plateau on my current products.

I have also that it's not only the sun that can increase the risk of melasma, but HEAT also. Don't know if it's true, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Use only cool or lukewarm water to wash your face and bathe.

As long as your water isn't hot enough to burn you, you should be fine. Melanocytes in the skin are not typically triggered by heat your skin can naturally handle.

Thankyou Marleen and Leuca...it's really annoying my derm suggests laser but I'm quite suspicious that it might make my skin more sensitive.

My doc here in the UK told me that melasma and what I have (he calls it a buildup of melanin) are exactly the same thing. He told me to read: https://www.quora.com/Are-there-any-natural-ways-to-reduce-melanin-production-in-the-body.
I am currently using aloe vera gel & vit E oil see
Aloe Vera/ Aloe Vera + Vitamin E:
"Aloe Vera’s soothing and healing properties offer solutions for a host of skin problems. And it effectively treats pigmented skin, clears dark spots and blemishes too. Aloe Vera actually causes older skin cells to slough off, leaving clearer-looking and rejuvenated skin behind.
To use:
Apply the gel from aloe vera leaf half hour before bed every night;
Add one or two Vitamin E capsules like Evion to enhance its efficacy."
I will be starting tonight but I will return in a month to tell you how it is going.

Aloe is comprised of more than 99% water; the remaining compounds are excellent for skin, but are not a miracle for discoloration or excessive production of melanin.

Professional chemical peels and prescription strength retinoids are the typical first approach before medication is usually considered, but sunscreen is a must for any melasma treatment regimen, as it's because of overactive melanocytes in the skin, which react to UV light even with people who don't have melasma.

Rajina I found this article which might be of help to you: http://www.brownskin.net/melasma.html - I am a Eurasian, I.e. Chinese, Japanese, anglo-Indian & English mixture. The aloe vera + vit E oil mixture did not show any signs of fading my melanin marks. My evening & morning regime now is:-
1. Cleanse & tone with my Monsia Skincare products
2. Apply fresh lemon juice on my marks every night and only apply my Monsia night repair cream to my neck & forehead, steering clear of the lemon juice.
3. I was told to take care to rinse my face thoroughly every morning before cleansing & toning.
4. Apply Monsia day moisturiser with SPF15
5. Apply Shade sunscreen with SPF25 (I get this from Amazon, UK) then makeup.

So far I think this regime seems to be fading my marks EVER SO SLOWLY. My foundation covers my mark and I do not need a concealer so I am happy.

Thanks Leuca for the info. I will ask about chemical peels when I next go for a facial.
