You have to keep your nose clean. not just from the outside but the inside as well. That could be a reason why it's itching and swollen because it could be infected. It also doesn't have to be because of that it could also be because your nose is more sensitive than other places.

I would say that it's only been a day, and there's bound to be some irritation and sensitivity just due to the nature of piercings. Give it a bit to let the swelling go down on its own. You could apply a cold compress if it's really bothering you. Continue to wash it with the salt water as often as your piercer suggests.

If it's still hurting in a few days, I would see either your piercer or a doctor. And I'm definitely no expert, I have my ears double pierced but that's it - so I could definitely be wrong. Hopefully some ladies on here can give you some better tips and some info on what to expect as your piercings heal.

Do you sleep on the same side of your face as your nose piercing? Since it's new, that could be a factor. Also what type of Sea Salt solution are you using? Is it H2Ocean or are you making yours at home? If you make yours at home what amounts of Sea Salt to Water are you using? I have my nose, lip, and ears pierced (3 on each ear)

If it's a pre-made solution you're fine, but if you make it there might be a problem. Make sure you're using Sea Salt and not just regular table salt. Believe it or not there is a difference, a major one. This website can give you all the information you need about a proper Sea Salt Soak.

There's a spray you can get to keep piecing clean and prevent infection. You probably would find it at a chemist

If you slept on it on accidentally hit it with your arm or hand or something in your sleep this can definitely factor in. Hitting it, touching it too much etc, can do this. Make sure you clean it from the outside AND the inside with a qtip. This happened to me and I had to remove my nose piercing and now I have to go get it redone on Friday -_- Lol. Best of luck :)

Try not to touch your piercing too much, I know it's sometimes hard not to with new piercings but any bacteria on your hands can be getting into the piercing, even if you're hands are clean. Use an anti septic on your piercing if you think that it's infected. signs of infection, would be puss, or some crustiness around the hole
