ColourPop question (1st one got lost!)

Hey everyone!

I posted this at lunch, but I can't find it anymore. Sorry if it is still there but I can't see it.

I really want to try some ColourPop lippie but I have some question for you :

1- Is one of the formula better than the other (liquid VS stick)? By better I mean more comfortable, last longer, is less drying, etc

2- Is the finish really different/noticeable between the Ultra satin and the Ultra matte?

3- Kind of the same question for the sticks, the different finishes are confusing... Matte VS Matte X / Satin VS Satin Luxe

4- Could you someone please compare the staying power/transferring to Stilla stay all day liquid lipstick or NYX liquid suede (those are the only liquid lippie I own!)

I know it's A LOT! But I so rarely buy makeup online, I really want to make sure I know what I'm buying.
6$ a piece is not a lot, but with 15$ shipping I want to be sure to love them :)

Hey Genevieve, I'm just writing here to see the reviews. I made an order with 2 other friends because the shipping was pricy. I ordered ultra matte liquid lipsticks, matte lippie stix, a highlighter, a bronzer and an eyebrow pencil. I don't think it's the same quality as Stila... but the price is pretty good. I recommend you watch Stephanie Nicole on youtube, she does detailed reviews on liquid lipsticks.
also, just an Fyi, its been a week since we ordered and it hasnt even shipped out so... it takes a while

Thanks for letting me know Lara. I don't expect it to be the same quality as Stila, but they are the only one I own along with NYX liquid suede. I'll edit my original post ;)
I'm curious to see how long it will take. let me know! What shade did you order?

A lot of your questions are really going to come down to what you want out of the product. The formulas are all quite different so it’s like trying to figure out which is better, an apple or an orange? know what I mean?

Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks: I personally am not a fan of this formula at all. It is very drying and will crumble if you attempt to layer them or touch up throughout the day. If you can tough out the dryness you can get about 4 hours of wear before they will start flaking off. Less if you are eating and drinking.

Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks: If you like the NYX liquid suedes you will definitely like these they are very similar. However, I have noticed that the lighter shades in this formula can be a bit streaky. I can easily get 6-8 hours of wear with these and they touch up nicely. Also these are not transfer proof. They have a semi matte look to them but never actually dry down completely.

Matte X: I only played around with a friends so I can't talk about wear time but if you have ever put a translucent powder on top of a traditional lipstick it has that same powdery feel to them. Not transfer proof at all but they do look completely matte on the lips. Opaque too.

Regular Lippie Sticks: I'm not really a fan of the matte formula on these. They tend to be a bit patchy when they are applied but the creme, glossy and satin formulas are great for $5. They aren’t super long wearing or transfer proof but they are very comfortable and for the price I think they are worth it.

I’ve never tried the stila liquid lips so I can't make any comparisons to those but if you have any other questions let me know.

I only own one lippie stix and pencil and I'm glad that's it. I have tootsi which I believe is just a regular Matte. The color was a lot darker than I expected. It does not last AT ALL whatsoever on my lips. After an hour it doesn't even look like I'm wearing anything. I'm super disappointed.

I've heard nothing but great things so I decided to order a few ultra mattes a couple days ago so I'll let you know what I think when j get them!

In my opinion the ultra satin are much more comfortable to wear and with not much difference in the look of wear between the ultra matte, the ultra matte tend to bleed quite a bit and dry way to much on the other hand I prefer the color range of the satin finish more as well, I wear makeup for around 11 hrs a day when I work and I may touch up the ultra satin once at lunch but when they do fade they don't get as patchy as the matte ones...this is just my opinion because I must be one of the only people on this planet that hate there shadows but the satin are up there with kvd quality  (:

I only own a few of the ultra matte liquid lipsticks and I agree with Kristen W some of the brighter colors apply very patchy for me and when I try to layer to get an even color they crumble and crack. I am curious about the ultra satin though if you end up purchasing any of those I would love to hear how you like them.

I have the ultra matte liquid ones and they are drying depending on the color, I usually prep my lips with some lip balm before I apply. The regular lip pies are good also I like them I have three shades, and the matte lippies aren't as bad as I thought either they aren't too drying. But over all I think the satin ones are the best!
