There have been other instances where Natasha has acted in a less than professional manner. I'm sorry to disagree with you Kristen, but there's simply NO reason to call anyone pathetic.
Seeing as I am coming out with my own products, I would never speak to anyone like that. If someone takes the time to make a positive or negative review, or says anything to question my background, it should be appreciated, and responded to in a professional manner. Even if you think the review is negative due to user error or it's just flat out erroneous, how you handle that determines how you are publicly viewed. I'm the first one that will call something out for exactly what it is, but as a business woman, she should have taken the higher road and not gotten so utterly snippy and unnecessarily defensive. 'How' one says things can go real wrong real fast, and as a professional, I expected her to count to 10 before she responded(s). Just because someone else may have been acting juvenile, that does not mean that she should mirror the behavior. Even though you don't disagree with what Natasha said, there are loads of videos out there wherein had she not acted out might not exist. Accountability is a 2 way street. Just my opinion. :)

Wow I didn't know a lot of this stuff with Natasha. I know her products are way too overpriced unlike Jeffree's. Of course this is my opinion, but sometimes in the makeup industry you have to be mean. Jeffree has be through a ton of crap. I think part of the why he is the way he is is because of society. You see all the hateful stuff other people get. I have bought unicorn blood and his strawberry gum lip scrub and I love both of them. I have been meaning to get his highlighters too, but they are sold out.

That’s ok. We can always agree to disagree. :P
I do agree with you about the name calling. I’m just thinking about how damaging these reviews can be and I think that’s where I’m justifying the reaction a bit. But at the same time responding will just bring more attention to the situation. It’s kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

What an utter disappointment, yet I'm not surprised. I love a Diva worthy of the title, but that would include knowing how and when to be a class act.

Kristen; Agreeing to disagree is what keeps life interesting. ;)
Wow... Jeffree Star using the C**t' word again... He's unfortunately very liberal with that word. The snap that Alma posted is a good example of how Manny and Jeffree behave. Sad isn't it?
Sarah: I respectfully disagree: "Sometimes in the makeup industry you have to be mean."
I make my living as a makeup artist, and no... you don't have to be mean to succeed in this business. If I were mean, no one would hire me: I wouldn't be able to keep a roof over my family's head, food in the refrigerator, the lights and gas on, and be able to buy pretty much what I like. This industry has been very very good to me, and trust me when I say this: If you are mean, word gets around and no one will want to work with you.
Jeffree has indeed faced struggles, as have we all; however, that does not give him the inherent right to treat people the way he does. Bad behavior is bad behavior, and there just is no excuse to treat people like that, ever. He gets away with being rude and abusive by calling himself "real." Sorry, I am VERY( Ask Alma, she'll tell you) real, and would NEVER think of treating anyone like that.
I think Stephanie Nicole said it best, "No one cares you're a Scorpio Jeffree, you're being a d**k." I might not have used the d word in such a public fashion, but I agree with her point. You cannot blame 'society' for behavior choices. While it's true we mirror some behaviors that mold our personalities, we do have the ability to make conscious choices and decisions for ourselves, and blaming anything we do or say on Society? In my opinion, that is just an excuse so we don't have to look within ourselves for the source of discontent that causes us to behave in such a questionable manner.
I'm glad you love your Jeffree Star products, and I really hope he does a 180. :)

Jacqueline unfortunately some are raised to believe that saying those words are okay. Which it is not. What I meant by being mean is that sometimes you have to put your foot down on some things. I don't like the C word because it just is rude and sounds weird to say in my opinion. Like I said before this is just my opinion and you don't to take it. But I feel like he has always been this way and it is just how he is and also the people he use to hang around with were not good people at all! Somethings he says and does Things that I don't agree with, but we aren't hearing his thoughts and or reasons on what he does and says. I'm not trying to be rude or anything if you felt that way reading this, but I am just saying my opinion :)

Ohhh...I am so interested in what you have brewing, Ms. Jacqueline! I just know it's going to be fantastic because you are a woman of integrity.
Manny has done some collabs; MUG should shut him down. Does YouTube allow abusive language?

Rozberry unfortunately I think it does unless somebody reports your comment or the you tuber doesn't approve your comment

My own line Rozberry. :) Shadows, blushes, lipsticks, gloss, glitters, etc. etc.
No worries Sarah; I didn't think you were rude at all. We all have the right to opposing points of view, I just don't think blaming others or society as a whole for how someone chooses to behave is a viable excuse. As a woman, and in my opinion, there's never a need to resort to such degrading name calling. You're right, he is who he is, and no one has to like it but they don't have to accept or endorse it either. :)

Jacqueline; I don't blame society as a whole, but it is part of the problem. People think that since others do stuff that is not right they think they can do that. I do hope that Jeffree does realizes his mistakes. :)

Sorry, I just do not see how even partially blaming society has anything to do with how he or anyone else chooses to behave. I've had some really horrendous things done and said to me, but I don't think that it's 'okay' to do it to someone else because it has been done to me.
I try and live by, "If I wouldn't like someone saying or doing that to me, I won't do it to someone else." I'm not perfect, we are all imperfect beings; I have said and done some things that I regret. Here's the thing though, part of being human is realizing our mistakes and knowing when we make them 'how' to make it right within ourselves, and to the ones we have directly and/or indirectly offended or hurt. It's called character, and part of developing character is admitting where you went wrong, who you hurt, and what you do when no one is looking.
You and I respectfully disagree when it comes to Jeffree Star's behavior choices in terms of making excuses for it. I'm just going to agree to disagree with you. :)

God can we just have peace between the makeup industry. You guys are doing makeup for almost the same reason.
Jun 14, 2016
Jacqueline H.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW... I wish Manny would take a chill.
Just curious, what do you do for a living Sarah?
Jun 14, 2016
Sarah O.
I am a high school student. I am going to be a junior next year.
Jun 15, 2016
Jacqueline H.
Ah, okay. Well, we all don't do makeup for the same reasons. Some of us do it for a living, some of us are just enthusiasts, some of us are Influencers, etc. etc.
In theory, I agree... We all should be doing makeup for the same reasons. I think all of us here on Beautylish do. That aside, some people choose to take their love of makeup in different directions for different reasons.
I make my living applying makeup on others, influencers make money by accepting endorsements and deals pretty much based on the amount of followers they have, not by how much skill if any they posses. Kristen has a good YouTube channel, and she would be able to elaborate more about that. There are 'some' shady shady influencers on YouTube that say things that aren't true, and do not disclose as per FTC requirements, and the walls will be coming, and have been coming in around them for some time now. Do they love makeup? You Bet.
I'm with you Sarah, I don't like all this drama, and I prefer to be like Sweden: Neutral. I don't have a YouTube channel, and I never will, that kind of thing just isn't for me. I am a formally trained makeup artist. I spent a lot of money and a lot of time studying the art and the technical practices of makeup application, and most of these Influencers have no formal training. Do you have to go to makeup school to be a makeup artist? Absolutely not, but doing makeup on a professional level is a whole lot different than doing makeup only on yourself. Where I take issue is when someone that has no professional training telling me or anyone else that what we professionals do is wrong. If Manny somehow managed to gather enough professional verifiable hours, had the money to go Union, and got on an actual movie set, he would wee his pants while looking like a deer in headlights. He would have no idea what to do because he has no training or experience when it comes to the technical requirements of makeup for film and television. He only does makeup on himself, and that does not give him or anyone else the right to tell professional mua's that what we do is wrong and invalid.
Kevin James Bennett has better things to do than deal with Manny or any Manny clone; however he really is someone I look up to and respect because he really is the only professional artist that I know of that will protect and defend our profession. Thank Goodness for KJB!!
Here's a perfect example Sarah; Not to long ago, when Belladelune did her 'clown contouring,' I made a comment on the video in regards to not understanding her foundation choices and placements to achieve what she was trying to achieve. I was actually supremely interested, and I was very polite. What did I receive in return? Verbal abuse from her followers for simply asking a question. Did she respond? No. It got so bad that I had to make my Google private because her followers were getting increasingly abusive towards me. Now is that right? No. I could have, and would have been justified to be just as verbally abusive in my responses, but that is not what a professional does. The same cannot be said about some YouTube Influencers.
As a profession, we really don't want to see any artist or influencer fail, but I'll be darned if we should take abuse from these Influencers simply because we respectfully question what they do. You don't see respected professional makeup artists behave like Manny and Jeffree...they create the drama, hence more hits and more money in their pockets. I personally understand why people gravitiate to influencers, and I'm glad they do what they do. I wish there was a happy medium between the two, but all you can do is control how you behave, and not get into all of the Instagram/YouTube drama.

Jacqueline amen! I will never have a YouTube because of all the drama that goes on there. It's sad to see that people that are doing what they love have to be involved in drama.

I wished they can be in a room with KJB and all talk about everything and maybe just maybe it would come down to a better understanding of each other. :)

Sarah, If you want a channel don’t let the drama scare you off. It’s easy to avoid and people aren’t as nasty as a lot of influencers like to make them out to be. I think in the year I’ve been on youtube I’ve maybe had 10 negative comments? And usually they weren’t even directed at me. Mostly just people fighting among themselves in the comments.
Also, sorry if I’m misunderstanding your post, Jackie, but I’m definitely not in it for the money. :-/ I am affiliated with Bdellium Tools and Kat Von D Beauty but every other offer I have always turned down. I don’t even really accept free product that much because dealing with the companies PR team is usually not worth the headache *cough*L’oreal*cough* and I like to be able to say what I want without restrictions. Bdellium Tools & KVD have always given me 100% freedom so that’s why I continue to work with them.
As for why I do it… Not to sound narcissistic but mainly to document my skill improvement as I go and to force myself to try things outside of my comfort zone. Hopefully others watching can be inspired to try something new as well. I also am a very shy person naturally so it does force me to come out of my shell more and be more social. It’s basically a hobby not a job to me and I try to be as honest as I can without being sued. lol

I wasn't referring to you at all Kristen; however, I do believe I am correct in saying that there are indeed some shady practices going on in the land of YouTube, and while you may not do what you do for money, there are plenty in the land of YouTube that indeed do it for the money.

Rozberry let us know how you like the palette when you get it 😊 and as to natasha denonas shadows, belive me you arent missing out at all you want natasha denona shadows go to walmart and get loreal I falible shadows there the same thing
@ kristen I strongly disagree, natasha needs to grow the F*** up shes the one that has lots to lose the fancy face has nothing she should give a shit on what people say if its a good product its a good product and nothing anyone says or does will change that and it will do good just like the becca shadows they were shit and got called out for it side the fact these big youtubers did nothing but rave about them but natasha denina going out there talking shit will do nothing but affect her buisness shes a buisness woman and should know better but like you said we can agree to disagree
Sarah the way he acts is the way he wants to act his stuggles don't justify why he does or say things point blank he's a ass and people are starting to open there eyes, he's very manipulative and the way he uses manny as a puppet is fu***n hilarious, not everyone does makeup for the same reason and by the action of people its not hard to see who does it because they feel passionate about it and who does it just to have deep pockets I think this whole you tube makeup videos need to stop, people need to get a book a get there ass reading from people who have years in the buisness not be watching shit from someone who does nothing but edit and photoshop
