Hey everyone! Jeffree is restocking Ice Cold and Peach Goddess on Wednesday and I was thinking of purchasing them but I was wondering had any of you could give me your opinions of how they are before I bought them! I love an intense highlight and these just look perfect for me! Please let me know!

If I was going to purchase a Jeffree Star highlighter, I would most likely purchase Ice Cold. Thank you for posting this video Alma. I always like Stephanie Nicole's reviews because she is one of the only individuals that will tell you what she really thinks in an honest unbiased fashion.

That being said, besides the uber-colorful cosmetic products that he has come out with, does anyone really know who he is or how he got to be where he is? If not, let me tell you.

Jeffree Star, after graduating high school graduation started supporting himself with various makeup, modeling, and music gigs. Jeffree Star knows how to work social media sites, and primarily used My Space(remember My Space?) as a tool to further his music and fashion design. He was a big time blogger, and very openly shared his day to day life while making some very insightful commentary about self-image and confidence, fame, beauty and life in general. He built up a huge fan base on loads of websites but My Space was really his thing and his MySpace photo shoots were largely successful, and in 2006, he was recognized as MySpace's most 'connected profile personality.'

As a musician, or 'vocalist' he had some success. In 2007, He was part of part of the True Colors Tour which is sponsored by the LGBT Logo channel. He cut his first LP in 2009 which was entitled Beauty Killer, and in 2010, he appeared in the second version of Kesha's video for 'Take It Off.' In 2014? He released his line.

Jeffree Star is an all around interesting individual with the gift of the gab. He knows how to network and promote himself, and he has worked very hard to achieve what he has musically as well as being a very popular social media figure. The man can 'work it,' and I can respect that. That's about where it ends for me. Ever since his cosmetic release, in my opinion, his 'true colors' have come shining through, and I will not support his brand.

In my opinion, Jeffree Star needs to learn that not everyone is going to like what he does, or the makeup he puts out; however, as a business man, how you choose the handle yourself speaks volumes about 'content of character,' and in my opinion, how he chooses to conduct himself shows complete lack of character, period. I'm sorry, but belittling his fans when they had some very valid concerns about his products really isn't kind, nor is it smart business.

As a woman, I personally find that using the word C**t is about as disrespectful and degrading a word one can choose to use, so why would I give my hard earned dollars to someone who is very fond of using that word? He does not think before he speaks, and he has experienced some serious backlash for his chosen course of conduct: In my opinion, he has shown that he is a hypocritical attention seeking bully. Threatening to 'beat Shayla to the f***ing ground...' Seriously? What kind of man does this, and does it on more than one occasion so unabashedly? Hey, I would never begrudge anyone from making a buck; however, I am frankly shocked, and a bit disappointed that Beautylish would choose to associate themselves with Jeffree Star's line seeing his chosen erratic and egregious behavior.

I have seen numerous threads on Beautylish talking about the course of conduct that Lime Crime and it's owner Doe Deere chose to engage in, and I can respect members views in terms of not respecting Doe Deere; hence, not using Lime Crime. To each their own; however, I cannot in good conscience purchase Jeffree Star products. There's enough negativity in this business, and I was really hoping he would show us a strong product line, and not get involved, and in some cases instigate YouTube/Instagram drama. He is a Diva, and that's not a bad thing. Who doesn't love a Diva? That aside, referring to any woman as a 'c**t' is an immediate 'no go' for me.

In the makeup world, I am a nobody, and I am completely okay with that. I said what I said here because I truly believe that there is no such thing as actions without consequences, and in my opinion...Jeffree needs to hire a good PR firm. He really needs to be schooled on how to conduct himself in a social media world; if he doesn't, his behavior will be his undoing. Of course, these are only my opinions.  ;)

I for the life of me can never understand the pull that these “influencers” have over so many people. I used to think it was their demographic and that because the majority of the viewers were young they just didn’t know any better. But it’s not that, It’s adults too. A part of me wonders if it’s because they are so easily accessible that people become so attached. You can tweet at Mark Wahlberg all day long but you’ve got a snowballs chance in hell of getting him to notice you. But with these youtube influencers not only will they see your comments but they will most likely interact with you as well. These fanatics remind me of the old school rock groupies in the 80s/early 90s. As long as they are getting attention from their idol they don’t care how they conduct themselves. The psychology of it all is just so strange to me and it does worry me that Beautylish could one day face the backlash that Becca is now dealing with. The influencers always come out unscathed but you can't say the same for the companies associated with them.

Back on topic though, I do like Jeffree Star’s products. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I don’t. With that being said I think it has been very irresponsible and hypocritical of me to support his brand for as long as I have just because I liked his products. I saw his behavior and even while I cringed I would always turn the other cheek because I kept hoping he would change and grow up. That obviously isn’t going to happen and the more success he gets the more he is going to feel justified in his actions. Since the twitter tantrum directed at the pro side of the industry I’ve decided to stop using his products on my channel and will no longer be purchasing them for myself either. It’s such a shame because the potential is there. He is using a high end lab. Doesn’t appear to be cutting any corners like most companies lately. But his attitude will eventually be his downfall.

Not to sound like an old fart but it’s really sad to me that these people are who the younger generation are looking up to and trying to become... :(

Edit: Sorry, Jenna, for hijacking your thread... I forgot to answer your actual question. xD I have both highlighters but the consistency of mine seems to be a lot different from others that I have seen review them. ‘Ice Cold’ is probably the worst out of the bunch but also the prettiest shade in my opinion. It has a TON of glitter fall out. It seriously gets everywhere no matter what brush I use. Finger application works best with that one. ‘Peach Goddess’ on the other hand is very smooth and gives a really nice glow. It can easily be built up for more of an intense highlight but out of the four is the most natural looking. ALL 4 shades will emphasize texture on the skin if you are not careful. I also wouldn’t recommend these at all for mature skin. Hope that helps.

I'm so glad you brought this up, Ms. Jacqueline. I actually wrote Beautylish recently to notify them that I will not be making any future purchases from the line and how disappointed I was that they would partner with him on the lipstick package.

I have 3 lipsticks, all of which me honestly left me utterly unimpressed. I actually gave one away already. This was before I knew of previous behavior patterns and so that has not tainted my lack of love for what I've tried from the line. I simply find there are much better lip options that I enjoy.

I didn't know about his past behavior until after my purchase, when a Beautylish friend informed me of some media buzz. I did research for myself and was taken aback that anyone would want to be in business with this sort of bullish and mean-spirited behavior...much of which is targeted at women.

With this recent fiasco...hunting down of customers to insult and berate them... it's proof there's been no positive change over the years.

We don't tolerate bullies here in the forum, but this currently doesn't apply to the "store.
I don't begrudge anyone that enjoys the products and I'm all about sincere redemption, but I've said "goodbye" for good. I don't plan on repeating my personal displeasure if someone creates a look they love using the products or is sharing a haul, but I DO hope to see Beautylish say goodbye to the entire line. If you have stopped purchasing or if you have decided not to make a first-time purchase, I encourage you to let the Beautylish customer service know with a quick note.

"Not to sound like an old fart but it’s really sad to me that these people are who the younger generation are looking up to and trying to become... :("

Amen Kristen... I don't get it either. Perhaps we are just from a different time... The artists that I look up to are hardly ever mentioned here, nor do they seem to have much of a presence on various social media sites. It's good to know that you think his products have potential, but I simply cannot support anyone who chooses to conduct themselves in that fashion. We are all accountable for what we do and what we say, and I truly hope Jeffree does a 180.

"We don't tolerate bullies here in the forum, but apparently the rules don't apply to the "store". I don't begrudge anyone that enjoys the products, but I hope to see Beautylish say goodbye to the entire line."

Rozberry; OMG! You hit the nail on the head with one shot and drove it right into the drywall. Amen sister. I'm with you, I don't begrudge anyone that enjoys his products, but like Kristen said, it would be a sad day if Beautylish experienced the same backlash that Becca is now dealing with. It's true...the influencers usually come out unscathed; however, one cannot always say the same for the companies associated with them. ;)

If you look at the more successful artists out there with long term careers (Rick Baker, Ve Neill, Lisa Eldridge, Mary Greenwell, Kevin James Bennett, etc.) they all have a few things in common..

- They’ve stayed humble
- They’re still willing to help/educate/learn
- They’re the first to admit their mistakes
- And most importantly they let their work speak for itself

How many of these influencers can say the same?

It’s like that saying “Insecurities are loud. Confidence is silent.”

I don’t know… I just think that all of these bigger Youtubers need to take a big slice of humble pie and sit down for awhile. lol But I guess everyone has to learn the hard way eventually. ;)

I feel really bad about all this, I myself love his lipsticks they are great and have great wear on the lips. Some of the lipsticks do not wear well and I think it's just the colors.

Regarding the highlighters I only purchased one and its in peach goddess. I really love the color and how subtle it is. It CAN be built up if you use a spray or just pack it on like crazy. It is NOT as strong of a highlighter as I was led to believe, but to give you an honest truth, I myself am fine with subtle highlighters as I that's what I usually go for anyway. With finger swatch it is definitely a bling highlight. Used with a brush, no. I know I gave a first impression review of it somewhere. I personally like the peach goddess but I still like Laura geller's formula better. The king tut shade has a formula problem as it is too soft and will break as you've seen the reviews here on beautylish. Don't know about the rest.

Lastly, that's my last purchase from JS. I will not support or buy from him anymore. I can't, for the life of me, give money to someone who is rude to his own customers. I have not personally encountered that myself, but knowing I could sometime in the future is a gamble I will not play. I usually try not to put myself in situations where I could end up being pissed off. Not a good feeling. Like I said I feel bad about it, because I own a lot of his lipsticks and I don't like supporting people who are mean natured like that.

I agree, any true artist that loves what they do wants to do what they can to better themselves and others. Another good example: Robert Jones. :) Fantastic makeup artist, and a supremely humble and gracious man. :)

I agree with "Insecurities are loud. Confidence is silent,” and what C.S. Lewis said, "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less."  ;)

Jun 12, 2016

Kristen W.

I agree, Livi. I probably own 12 of his liquid lips and the rest of his products so I'm very guilty myself. Better late than never I guess. :P

Funny that you mentioned Robert Jones. I was just looking at his makeup academy last night! lol It's so tempting but I'm still am holding out for CMS. He is a great man, though. :)

Jacqueline, I can't agree with you more about your thoughts on JS. I was one of his followers back in the myspace days, but I never saw his "dark side"... I was sooo young back then too lol. so when he popped back up in the makeup game these past few years, I was so excited. I did purchase the Peach Goddess Skin Frost and the Mojito Lip Scrub at the launch on Beautylish. although I do love my products, I regret purchasing from JS. I always knew he had a very strong personality and stuff, but recently he has taken it too far and some things from the past have been resurfacing as well (once again, I wasn't aware of these things which is why I never paid attention to them).
I am a hugeeee Stephanie Nicole fan and I think her video summed it all up perfectly. also, I have seen proof of him frequently deleting negative comments on his products or "attacking" people with negative feedback. I think people can change over time, but I think we now have proof that nothing has changed which is a real shame.
I personally can't support a person who makes racist, sexist and overall mean statements.

Woooooow. this breaks my heart. I have been supporting him for a long time and never noticed the most recent happenings. I could never support someone who treats people, let alone the people giving them an income, like that. this is a true disappointment.

Jenna R.

Wow, I'm so sorry that my post caused all of this! But thank you for informing me about what is happening and I have decided I'm not going to purchase anything from him. I'm so heartbroken because I loved Jeffree but now seeing all of this drama and who he really is has made me not want to purchase from him. Thank you everyone!

Thank you, Ms. Jacqueline and to all of the ladies who are voicing their concerns here today. I hope the community and the site's management takes notice. I truly do.

Jenna, don't apologize. We appreciate your gracious nature and for the opportunity to share our thoughts.

I did receive a response when I wrote Beautylish a brief note; they thanked me, saying my concerns and disappointment would be shared with corporate. I did not expect a reply, but was grateful for the respectful and thoughtful  response.

It's nice to hear that they responded to your email Rozberry. I think the customer service Beautylish has is amazing, and I hope they take it seriously.

Thank you Laura and to all of the ladies that contributed to this thread.

Jenna, you have NOTHING to be sorry about. In fact, thank you for making this thread, because it opened up some really interesting dialogue, and I appreciate the fact that you let us all contribute. I agree with Rozberry, we all appreciate your very gracious nature.

Like I said above, I will not begrudge anyone from making a dollar; however, as consumers, we have a right to voice our opinions and concerns. I'm just not okay with giving my money to any company that he is involved with on any professional level.

Like Rozberry said before, no one here is allowed to be a bully, and rightfully so. Beautylish has always expected its members to be kind, gracious and helpful, and if a member chooses to disregard Beautylish policy, you best believe a moderator will be right there to diffuse the situation, and thank goodness for that. I fail to understand why the same zero-tolerance policy for negativity and disrespectful behavior does not apply to the individual companies that Beautylish chooses to do business with. Again, only my opinion. ;)

Once again, thank you Jenna. :)

Hold out for CMS Kristen, you won't regret it. :)

I promise, this will be my last post on this thread. I will officially zip it. :)

Jenna, glad this info helped you out. Thanks ladies! Jenna Don't feel like you need to apologize, you did nothing wrong at all. If anything this brought a great conversation that is indeed a eye opener and really makes us all think.:)

I'm glad that we can have this conversation and share our views.

A Gracious Spirit is the best form of Beauty!

Unfortunately some let numbers of followers form validation of existence to the point they seem to think they have a social kingdom and all will be the insta village they can rule and belittle, it's absolutely sad and I don't support that.

I want to thank you, Alma for the Stephanie Nicole link. I had never seen her before. I watched a few of her reviews for the first time and I can't think of anyone on youtube that ingredient specific and so thorough with formulations, parent companies, tones, etc. I'm sincerely delighted with having found the channel through you ladies!

Your welcome Rozberry, isn't she great!?
Stephanie Nicole has extremely great knowledge that makes a person think and connect the dots.
she doesn't BS around that's for sure. :)

I'm not going to lie I do like his lipsticks I ordered 2 a while back and like the formula not a fan of the packaging and overal him I didnt know about his dirty ways but just by his attitude ewww nooo, but like they say don't judge a book by its cover but with all the shit thats camed up I wasnt surprised, his eyeshadow palette looks like complete shit I can't put it together its so messy and unorganized the colors bounce back and fourth, either way I know this is a site where peace is promoted but let me just say jeffree needs to get b###h slapped and brought to reality this man is all talk but no action I bet if anyone took him up on that beating and went at it let me guarantee you that he would be the first to run, paybacks a bitch thats all I'm about to say on him

on another note why don't we bring up the rest like bunny (grave yard girl) promoting jeffrees makeup yet shes against bullying and doesn't tolerate bullying of any kind and promotes peace and love, all this jeffree shit says a lot about her and what shes about everyone needs to realize all these youtubers are money hungry and they will feed you shit in order to get there's in other words don't belive everything you see, thats why the few bad reviews of a company or product you see get so much shit because there not letting themselfs get controlled or brain washed

But how can we forget Natasha dennona? All these good reviews and the one girl who actually speaks the truth on the palette and how bad it is gets eaten alive by natasha dennona talking about hows shes not a pro and blah blah blah that speaks a lot about her and her company and the bull shes about

Everyone needs to wakeup and smell the coffee and stop believing these youtubers or at least be conscious of what your watching its not hard to see when youtubers have sold out (wayne goss, jordan liberty cough cough) there's no doubt there's some talented people out there but that doesn't mean there watching out for you or your intrest there doing them and you guys have to do you and get what you like or what works for you and not what's on trend or what someone with a million subscribers or followers is promoting to you or using because acording to them its the best thing out there sorry for the long rant

Fantastic point Lili: Natasha Denona... You are absolutely correct... She acted in a very unprofessional matter when it came to the the negative reviews of her shadows. There's tons of videos on YouTube relaying stories of how Natasha Denona jumped on them for their reviews calling them 'pathetic,' and a few other choice adjectives.

I'm a pro, and have played around with her shadows, and I just don't think they are worth the exorbitant price tag. In my opinion, her matte shadows need to be reformulated: they are too powdery and apply in a very uneven fashion. She could take some lessons from Viseart when it comes to formulating a matte shadow. I understand why people really like her shadows... the metallics are really pretty, but they are v e r y metallic and they tend to ball up a bit. I was not impressed enough with her shadows to want to spend $239 for them, but that's just me. ;)

It just goes to show you that like Jeffrey Star, Natasha Denona needs to understand not everyone is going to like what she puts out. Some of the reviews for her shadows were understandable positive, and some of the reviews for her shadows were understandably negative. That aside, what you don't do is have a temper tantrum and call people names on social media outlets...that only makes her look bad. Of course these are only my opinions.  :)

Jun 14, 2016

CPT- Lili R.

She need to a lesson in visearts price point as well lol... natasha dennona is out of her mind to charge that much for loreal infallible shadows lol... natasha dennona needs a lot to learn especially in how to act professionally

She truly is, Alma. Her honesty and research is a breath of fresh air from the stench of bias.

Lil, lol I have my eye on a Viseart for my birthday this year. ;)
I just learned about the Natasha nonsense. She certainly won't see any of my hard-earned dollars. I find her products insanely overpriced, but that only compounds my dismay. This is unthinkable outside of the beauty community where product quality isn't so easily dismissed as subjective. I do my ingredient research, but I'll be stepping up my behavior & customer service research game for certain.

Kristen W.

For me the situations are kind of apples and oranges. Natasha Denona called a Youtuber (TheFancyFaced) unprofessional when she refused to correct the wrong information she gave in her review and then proceeded to throw a tantrum on twitter directed at Natasha Denona.

This is what drives me nuts about Youtube. There is zero accountability. Nobody ever admits their mistakes and the brands 99.9% of the time get the blame. The Youtuber always throws down the victim card no matter what the situation is. If Vogue magazine printed an incorrect statement about the brand they would be held accountable and would most likely issue a rebuttal. But for some reason with a video review posted on Youtube that's not expected. It's just my opinion but Natasha had every right to make the statement she made. She wasn't being degrading or attacking. She called a spade a spade. If you don't want to be called unprofessional then don't act like it. lol

Sorry for the rant.
