How long does mascara usually last?

Please let me know how long mascara last I really need to know because I have had mine for a while and I need to know if I should throw it out or not.

Usually about 3-4 months. but heck sometimes it's sooner. it all depends on the formula and how often you wear it, whether you pump the wand when you apply, etc. the tube will never be completely out of product, but when the mascara gets dry or difficult to use you know it's time to toss it and get a new one.

I usually go about 2 months or so... Sometimes sooner it just kinda depends, I can always tell when its about time for a new one based on clumpiness or dryness.

I just keep mine until it gets really clumpy and dry. I usually throw it out when it is hard to get it to look right and there isn't much product left on the wand.

If mine dries out or clumps sooner than usual I will add 2 to 3 drops of eye drops and it usually does the trick.  :)

Now this is just me, and I'm probably in the minority here, but if the mascara formula becomes dried out and clumpy relatively quickly, then you are probably pumping the wand way too much and forcing air into the tube, and adding any additional products into the mascara will only add to the breeding ground of bacteria that these mascara tubes house. If it dries out or clumps up, in my opinion, it's just time to toss the tube.

I never thought about that before. Good point because each time you pull the wand out more air gets into the tube. :)

Eye drops messed up a tube. For me. I had a little left but wanted to see if I could make it like new and had to throw it out. Maybe it was just me. But I won't try that agajn.

I have never pumped my mascara... I don't know why people do it because the only thing you get from it is dried out mascara. Will someone please enlighten me as to why that is a thing?
