So I got some gift cards to Ulta and Sephora and I want to know some of your guys favorite things that maybe I should invest in.
I am looking for a new foundation. I don't want something that makes my face look so cakey and gross. I live in AZ so the weather is changing now and my makeup is starting to look gross so a new foundation would be awesome.
I'm also looking for a good primer! I've never used one so I would like to try it out.
I'm also open to buying some more eye shadow palettes, and lip products (gloss, liner, lipstick etc.)

Thanks so much in advanced! ðŸ˜€

Maybe a good cc or bb cream instead if actual foundation for the heat? I don't use either so actual brand I can't help with sorry.

Ooooo and I forgot I'm in love with the TF peanut butter & jelly pallet!! gorgeous colors and I've experienced no fallout and they bleend beautifully.

I suggest the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, IT Cosmetics CC Cream (so much better than foundation in heat and humidity), Lorac Pro Palettes, Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks, and Urban Decay Revolution Lip Glosses (:

It cosmetics CC cream all the way! It's amazing. It has SPF and it's anti-aging, and still provides full coverage!

It's kind of tough for me because everyone keeps saying IT CC Cream is Anti aging and great, but I threw mine away. Citrus oils...worn in sun..bad news in my opinion and both my Derm's and my Estie's. You may want to research "Photo Toxicity" before purchasing. Here's some info that explains why it can actually actively age skin and break down collagen rather than protect you..even if used with SPF in the formula. I like some items in the line, but thru claims to being beneficial are what I now take issue with. Let your skincare products do your anti-aging and you'll be better off. I understand it's a loved item and respect people's choices, but I just want that choice to be made knowing the full info.

My suggestion if you like something light is a great broad spectrum sunscreen and the Smashbox BB Water. it's identical to MAC's Waterweight. I apply with my fingers and find it long wearing and fresh, with SPF. Wayne Goss did a review on YouTube for the MAC and discussed the BB water. My HG is MUFE Face and Body. Light on the skin..natural..buildable to medium and wears beautifully in heat..even in water. It's just so lovely. I'm never without it.
As for primer, I just use my favorite moisturizer or MAC Strobe Cream. If you have pores that need a little something then I like a tiny pea size of Urban Decays Pore product. Lasts me forever.

Eyes, Maybelline Lash Sensational gah! So great! Benefit Rollerlash, Covergirl Super Sizer (without fibers) and Tarte Lights! Camera! formulas are a dream. The Splashes is waterproof and I've been using it for yesrs. Never dries out my lashes. Pur has beautiful eye polishes and I adore both Benetint blushes, and Tarte's gel blushes as well as Amazonian blush. Hope that helps and have fun!

Ms. Moon, I liked the feel and ease, but I just can't devote SO much of my time and money in my skin, and then use it after researching some ingredients. I knew better, but got hyped and so I trust my Derm and Estie. I actually felt a huge relief when I tossed it. I agree, the colors are not the best. It did seem to accentuate my redness on hot days. I don't begrudge members who love it, but I just wanted to put the info out there. I believe Kitty has posted regarding the ingredients before. I know she has talked at length about scents and fragrant oils, etc.and cell damage. I really respect her for that. it's tough to go against the grain sometimes because we are all so passionate. Thanks for your support, as always. :)

Rozberry...eye polishes?

A lot of stores don't have it on shelves. I just reordered mine online (but you can return in store). I wonder if MUFE has a counter in Department Stores. hmmm..

Ariana, they are these gorgeous shine shadows with great pigment. I got a sample from a friend, but plan on purchasing one my next trip. Loved the wear and it was SO pretty at night, especially. If you dig Metallic, but not glittery...it's nice. I had no fallout using "Cashmere".

Rozberry, I was very interested in checking out the Smashbox BB Water and the MAC Waterweigjt. Unfortunately, one of the ingredients used in both as sunscreen is octinoxate. You might want to check out that ingredient. The MUFE product has many Parabens. Just thought I'd pass this along. Check it out! :)

Also, it seems as though if these citrus oils are cold-pressed and in small quantities, they are not toxic. I'm curious to know if Paula's Choice researched the specific prep of the citrus oils used in It's CC Cream...?

Thanks so much, Chris. Parabans are indeed controversial. I have read the info The American Cancer Society provided regarding Parabens, which was really informative, but even they demonstrate a respect for those who wish to abstain from them. I have many friends that opt for choices silicone free and other ingredients based on their wants and concerns...even on how their skin feels or reacts with an ingredients. I do appreciate that if you chose to avoid them. Even though I largely avoid scent, I have secret indulgences for rare use and so it's all about what we are comfortable with in our skincare. I did think it was worth mentioning since it is fresh on my mind.

As for the Oxtinoxate; I wear foundation in such tiny amounts and so these light or sheer looks result in minimal product needed for myself. I do know the ingredient and you bring up a great point if someone is looking to avoid that particular ingredient. Of course, we all have different skin and with sunscreens, sensitivity is everything. I did just recheck the ingredient against Paula's Choice and she gave it a highly positive rating in the ingredient dictionary..citing it's long history. Of course it comes down to who you ultimate trust and feel gives you the best information. I'm sure there are other respected sources who share your concerns for the ingredient, and I applaud you encouraging research.

This is actually a great example of how personal skin's needs and desires are here in the forum. I'm glad you enjoy your It and if you feel it's working for you or your skin doc or Estie has expressed no concern, that certainly makes your choice easier. I do appreciate you being honest in your concerns for a few items I'm using and so thank you so much for sharing that respectfully with me. You truly are a class act.

It's a combination of below surface irritation and sunlight that is my physicians and Estie's concern, as well as my own. I trust Paula and her chemists most of the time, but occasionally disagree. I do use some snail secretion in my skincare, for example.and Paula doesn't find it to be impressive. With regard to what to use or avoid, It's my Derm, my Physician and Estie I trust most of all. My own doctor is very thorough and ingredient specific, especially in her own Derm line. She has sent me to do homework at the library because I thirst for knowledge. I did enjoy the IT at first, but with cumulative use, it brought on redness for me. It just isn't within my own comfort level. I truly do understand your curiosity.

Perhaps Kitty can share her thoughts. She's a wealth of ingredient knowledge. I do recall that she also uses the MUFE Face and Body, but I'd love to hear her thoughts on the BB Water and IT. Knowledge is indeed a wonderful thing!

Forgive me for taking over your thread, Madi. I hope you have a great time shopping and thanks for creating the opportunity to discuss some products! :) Back to our regularly scheduled programming..lol Thanks again, ladies.

Thanks Rozberry! those eye polishes look awesome, I've actually never really tried metallic shadows like that I've just tried some super basic shimmers and mattes haha.

@Madi for primers I recommend the Smashbox primer (just the regular white one) or Angel Veil primer :) My favorite lipstick is the Revlon Matte Lipstick in Sultry (its in one of those chubby crayon tubes).
