I'd like to know your hair routines and thoughts on cleansing conditioners being added to routine. I'd like to find a minimal but effective hair care routine. I will tell you a little about what I currently do. I use clear scalp and hair about every few days. It's the shampoo that has worked for me the best so I stick with it. My hair doesn't feel weighed down or dry at ends so less hair oil is used. I occasionally use the Aussie volume conditioner and biolage detangling cream to change it up. I have long straight fine (but lots of it) hair. We're talking down to my butt long. I want to grow it out a couple jnches ( actually to my butt) and that works the best if I leave me hair down as much as possible. My hair is a nice golden blonde and looks dirty easily. I'd like to incorporate a cleansing conditioner and dry shampoo. Any tips for extending or gentle shampooing would be great. I am very gentle on my hair and don't use heat or products. I lightly shampoo roots only. I have tried dry shampoos and found they do nothing. I recently went to a wedding and had to buy emergency products so I now acquired a thickening spray (it was amazing for my can't keep a curl hair) and a blonde dry shampoo from Sally's. Any tips or routine help would be great. I know there isn't much I can do for volume with such long hair without products or teasing (which is hard to look nice on such fine hair) It's summer time and I do a lot of yard work and pool cleaning so I sweat a lot now haha
It's ruining my 'don't wash my hair much' game. : (

Try to use a sulphate free shampoo, it's not as damaging due to lack of chemicals. I used to use a shower gel from lush (it said that it can be used on the hair too) but it was named as a shower gel and it was really natural, improved the condition of my hair and helped me to maintain my colour as it wasn't stripping the oils out of my hair

Hey so I have super long hair too. I absolutely love the Not Your Mothers Way To Grow Shampoo and Conditioner. I feel like it keeps my hair strong while also keeping it hydrated. If I need a deep conditioner the day I shower I will use the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist deep conditioner and it is AMAZING at softening and hydrating hair. After my shower I use Herbal Essences 7-in-1 Argan Oil and Pantene BB Cream. My hair gets really frizzy so even when its dry I will use more of these products. I also do hair masks sometimes before J wash my hair. I just put whatever oil I have atm in my hair and leave that in for 30 minutes. This also makes hair washing a lot less stressful for your hair. By doing this I don't feel bad if I have to wash my hair everyday. Tip: Don't shampoo your ends if you don't have to. You can just shampoo the top and condition the ends and that should help with volume. Conditioners are normally what weigh down longer hair in my experience. Make sure you are trimming your hair every 6-10 weeks.

I use AG smooth shampoo and conditioner. It's VERY gentle and also sulfate free.
I have fine hair strands but a lot of it as well. I find that this particular duo helps with extending days between washing. I've tried ALOT of shampoos/conditioners and they weigh it down so badly but these AG smooth do not. I'm VERY pleased with them.
They contain Argan oil as well as coconut oil and is PH balanced. Probably why it doesn't make hair greasy while keeping it healthy.
I also find that the shampoo can act as both shampoo and conditioner. I usually use ALOT of conditioner with other shampoos but I use mostly only shampoo with this and lightly condition the ends with the conditioner. I've never had a great shampoo and conditioner like this before that is suitable for my seriously frizzy thin but lots of hair type haha.
I also use goldwell hair elixir before this, but haven't had the need to.
Another dry shampoo for in between wash days is also by the same line, they have brunette and blond shades so it's not straight white when you spray into the roots. You get it free from Ulta if you buy the shampoo or conditioner. They're having a sale right now as well!

Thanks for the suggestions ladies! I tried a new cleansing conditioner tonight on day 3 hair. Normally I'd go another day but I was in yard working two days in a row. I'm trying to be gentle on my hair but looking fresh most days. I will try dry shampoo in a day or two and go from there. I suppose just play around with it! I think using a cleansing conditioner and then dry shampoo will be good so my hair has the most product in it come time to wash with a regular (but gentle) shampoo.

I'd like to 'wash' once a week and maybe cleansing conditioner once a week maybe a little less however I stretch it out.
