So I've been practicing with my contour and is there any advice to improve? The products that I used:

Face:
matte moisturizer from formula 10.0.06?

Nyx hd concealer
Elf translucent powder for under eye
Maybelline fit me matte powder
Anatasia contour kit in light to medium
Mac Melba for my blush

Eyes:
Urban decay eye shadow primer in original?
Naked pallete I forgot the color
Eye brow highlight from the Lorac pro pallete? Forgot the color too
Maybelline lash sensational for my Mascura

I think it's a bit harsh.
The contour could use a little blending or you could try using a lighter shade of contour (kind of like a transition shade) then go in with a slightly darker shade to add a little depth.

Then with the blush, I don't really like the placement. It should be more on the apples of the cheeks (rather than where the zygomatic bone is) and drag it a little outward

I agree with Aurora. I think it's just a bit harsh. Try lighter shades in the contour and blush, use a lighter hand, and blend like crazy :)

I agree with Aurora as well. Also the darker eyeshadow is brought too close to the front of the brow so I suggest making sure when you're blending you're not pulling the eyeshadow up as much.

I agree with the ladies in that it's a bit harsh. I'd use both a lighter shade and a softer touch with the cheeks to deposit less pigment. For my own tastes, I prefer to not see where the product ends so I'd blend it out more. I apply my own blush a bit higher on the apples. That's preference, but I like the bit of lift in that way as it draws the eye up. I think it might be very flattering on you; can't hurt to give it a try. :)

I'm new to contour myself and enjoy minimal in my own looks. A less severe brow would give this a bit more softness. I love that mascara so much! It's one of my favorites. I think another coat a bit closer to the lash line would frame your eyes beautifully, bringing in some volume. Certainly, you have lovely long lashes. Have you ever considered tightlining to give some pop to your bright eyes? They really shine..very pretty.

As for the shadow. Did you use a transitional shade on the entire lid? I have found that to be a game changer..making blending out shadows easier for me. I'm never brave enough to post a request for feedback on my own, so props to you for being open to ideas and techniques. It provides an avenue for conversation that we might all learn from.

I agree the placement is a tad off. If you press the back of your index finger (from knuckle to tip) against your cheekbone, you can feel the bottom edge of your cheekbones. That's where the contour goes. Notice the ANGLE of the bones. The edges will point somewhere between the bottom of your nose and above your lips. I feel this is a more natural look to create higher looking cheekbones and lifts the actual cheeks. Some girls will place the angle lower toward the corners of their mouth or even pointing towards their chin. Which is fine if you're trying slim your face or give yourself more of a gaunt look. Although I don't like that look on me since I'm losing volume in my face. If you change the angle of your contour, blush placement will also be easier, because the blush will be higher also and at a slightly different angle.

Thank you ladies so much for the help! :) I try to blend but the more I blend it leaves patches on my cheek, especially on the right side. Do you girls recommend any brushes? I have the rt ones and I don't like it and I have an angled blush brush and I don't like it either. With my blush, thank you Rozberry for the suggestion, I will definitely try it! :) I'm honestly scared of tightlining, I'm scared to poke my eye lol, my eye shadow I just used 1 shadow on my lid and I blended it out but I think it's my brush that I use that brings it high to my brow bone because I only like swift back and fourth, I don't drag it. Thank you, I get so scared but I want to improve 😊

I mostly do dabbing & pressing motions with brush. I use the Morphe E49. It's got a pointy tip, which I use for precision application using dabbing motions the I turn it on its size (it has a narrow side & a flat side, again using dabbing and pressing motions. Sometimes I swipe a little near the hairline where for some reason, the color doesn't lay down as easily as the other areas of my face. I also have that problem on the outer edge of my eye crease. Oh well!

Breanna, I used to be afraid too! My friend gave me a tip to press my finger on my lid and the line of the upper lid just easily shows itself. I find Tarte, Too Faced, Urban Decay 24/7, and Pixi Silky Waterproof liners all are super smooth and easy to tightline with. :)

Do you recommend any products for beginners? Do you know if Ulta shows you how to contour like Sephora does? I'm going tomorrow to get some products and I would love to see it in person and see the difference. Do you know of any brushes that I can get at Ulta that will be great for beginners too? I feel like I need a great applicator to help me

Rozberry, thank you so much for the list of products! I'm going to Ulta tomorrow so I defiantly will look at them and for the tip too. My water line doesn't hold eye liner at all, it fades, do you know if the tight line will do the same?

I find the waterproof liners I listed to be the best with staying power. The UD 24/7 is at Ulta, but it's $20. If you are new to it, I'd hit up Target either in store or online or the Pixi website and pick up the Pixi Silky pen. It's only $12 and it holds up beautifully. The colors are lovely.

Hope you have fun shopping.

Have you tried the Ecotools brushes? I find that they work quite well for drugstore brushes, super soft and I feel I use less product with them.

I personally don't think blush is something you should slap on and then try to blend out.
I'd suggest dabbing your brush on the blush then sort of dab the brush on the back of your hand a couple of time to prevent putting on too much as once.
It'll allow you to apply the blush lightly and you can build it up.
I would use one big sweep over the apples of the cheeks and then if you want to add more, do another sweep but not as far toward the cheekbone each time.
Blush IMO shouldn't look very noticeable, it should look light and effortless otherwise it ends up competing with the contouring.

When it comes to contouring, you want to focus the product more around the hairline and try to avoid passing where your eye starts.
With contouring, try a sheer layer from the hairline to the eye level then as you add more, each sweep is more focused toward the hairline and less toward the center of your face.

Thank you Rozberry! I will definitely try it :)

Aurora I never tried those brushes, I have heard they were good so I will definitely look into them today. I totally understand the blush now, I'm going to try your suggestion and see how it comes out :) I'm going to get new brushes and see how it goes. Do you recommend any contouring powders? I have the Anastasia contour kit so far
