I'm looking to get a makeup gift for a friend that's going back to England this week. I was going to get her a palette or something from a brand (high end) that isn't available there. P.s. I live in Canada and something that I'd be able to get at Sephora as I don't have time to wait for something online. Thanks!

I would suggest a Kat Von D palette, I think Kat Von D isn't very easy to get in the UK and the quality is amazing (:

Actually most of the brands in that Cosmopolitan article are available in the UK now, the exceptions are and Bath and Body Works.
We don't have Kat Von D or Sephora own brand, at all but the following are brands we do have but are difficult to get hold of so maybe look at these: Marc Jacobs, Lorac, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Tarte.
When I was in the states (not Canada but I assume it's similar price and stock wise) I got lots of hourglass stuff as it's a lot cheaper. Maybe ask if there's anything she'd love to have but it's just too expensive in the UK for her to justify buying it but it's more affordable in Canada?

I would also look into Canadian brands that are probably more difficult to get. I do agree that you should ask if there's anything she's been eyeing to try. Make sure you look up prices as well. The Canadian dollar is extremely weak right now and it can cost more here sometimes. I have a friend in the UK and we were talking about some products and she had gotten a few things that were cheaper. Not by much, but I remember the one item being about 15$ cheaper with working out the value of each currency.
Here's a list of Canadian companies. There's more but it's just a list I had on my phone from doing research for a previous thread. Some are drugstore but it might be nice to check out getting her a few drugstore things if you wanted more than a single high end product.
Rocky Mountain soap company - from canmore but now all over North America (its own store)
Joe fresh - Canadian made, cruelty free and effing awesome lol. Never been disappointed. (lawblaws owned - superstore, no frills etc)
Bite beauty - from Ontario but snagged a deal with sephora and now global but still made in Toronto. (sephora)
Cargo - from Toronto but sold globally now. Mostly lip glosses (only in Ontario)
Annabelle - from Montreal. Cruelty free and help made by a internally acclaimed makeup artist. (Walmart, shoppers, London drugs etc)
Aveda - Canadian spa but almost all the products they sell are Canadian made. the owner is on dragons den and often buys into Canadian cosmetic and skincare companies to sell at his spa.
Mac - technically Canadian made. Started by two Canadian makeup artists. Started out in Canada but then was bought by Estee lauder. Still made in Toronto though. (mac)
Marcelle - made in Montreal but sold globally now. Cruelty free and made by the same company as Annabelle. (target, Walmart, shoppers, London drugs etc)
Quo - products are exclusively sold in Shoppers. But I love the eyelash glue lol.
Cover fx - created and founded as an Ontario Corporation. Created based on the need for products that would offer therapeutic benefits and environmental protection while being free of all irritants and suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Now global. (shoppers ans sephora)
