I'd love to help and recommend some great creams, but you abandoned your last thread from a few days ago and I saw no effort to thank members for their feedback.

You'll find members are incredibly helpful when their words and time are appreciated.

I'm also trying to figure out how I can go back to see what I ask for help for and couldn't find it.

It's understandable if you are new, but I had to say something because it seems to have become habit around here. I appreciate you responding to my post here in a sincere manner. Thank you.

Do you use Retinol or Retin-A currently?
Do you chemically exfoliate in any way?
Are you using an eye serum and if so, which one?
What eye creams have you had no luck with?

Lastly, what's your skin type overall and your budget or price point? That would be useful if we are going to try and get your the best product for your skin concerns.

I use a Retinol from Serious Skincare and also use their vitamin C serum and tried their eye creams with vitamin c & Retinol plus I have been using L'OREAL eye cream Hyaluronic acid. I have dry skin. My budget is kind of tight but my eye area is really bothering me so I am desperate.

Retinol is high enough up on the ingredient list for the Serious Skincare serum...which is a good thing. I don't like to layer Retinol products, however. If you are using Retinol and C already, so what you want is something hydrating for the eye area. Mario Badescu's Hyaluronic Eye Cream is $18 and although I dislike the jar packaging, it is excellent at replenishing moisture and plumping up the delicate eye area. I pair it with CeraVe PM which has skin calming ingredients while moisturizing and adding peptides. I also love Sweet Almond Oil. High in fatty acids and quick absorbing, it gives skin a hydrating glow. Argan Oil is also amazing as is Marajuca Oil. Marajuca is a fancy name for Pasion Fruit Oil and Tarte's pricey oil is simply Passion Fruit Oil cut with a bit if Vitamin E. You can make your own version by hitting up your health food store or Vitamin store and picking up a bottle of Marajuca Oil and a small bottle of E..and use them simultaneously by adding some E to your own Marajuca Oil. This also helps to extend shelf life.
Unlike Tarte, I pay about $13 for mine.

Hope that is of help to you.

Eye patches are another way to reduce puffiness, add a surge of moisture and smooth the undereye area. Patchology Flash Patches are $50, but you get 30 eye patches..making it quite the bargain.

Psst...if you are powering beneath your eyes, sometimes you might need to pass. If you feel you cannot, using a fan brush, apply a minimal amount of powder. Powder is not always necessary and can dry out your eyes. Also, layering too many products on more mature eyes only accentuates problem areas, so less is often more. Whenever you are home, get the moisture on your eyes and face. I dislike the Mario Face Cream but I'm never without his Hyaluronic Eye Cream. I use it on my lids as well and my oils, I use all over my face and orbital area after I let my Hyaluronic cream absorb. When you use serums, pat them into the skin, rather than rub. The same goes for your cream and oils. Drinking lots I'd water and eating hydrating foods will also benefit your sjin, including the eye area. If you can't afford the Patchology Flash Patches, there are less expensive eye patches I can steer you to. They are pretty fantastic mornings as I start my day and take only 5 minutes to work.

Oh ok I will definitely try that. Thank you so much!! Someone said I needed to try Neocutis eye cream from Premier Look. I just don't know if the vitamin c is really doing anything. I've been using it over a month. Is there another one that's good? I was also told that Retinol and Retina is different and I should be using the Retina. Thanks guys I really appreciate all the help!! :)

Well, it is true that Retinol is different from Retin-A. Retinol has to work with skin to transform into Retinoic Acid, whereas Retin A does not. Retin A is much stronger and therefore you are going to see faster, more effective results with the prescription formulation. This doesn't mean Retinol isn't highly effective, but you need to be dillgent with use and patience. Retinol, since it is not as harsh on skin, means you can use it with greater frequency than Retin A. For maximum benefit of Retinol, I usually suggest alternating it with a chemical exfiliant, such as Alpha Hydrox Glycolic Acid 12% Souffle. This has to feathered in around the eyes and lips carefully, and mucus membranes and lids should be avoided.
It is not one ingredient that makes for great skin, but instead a regimen..a combination of products working together, such as your Vitamin C and Retinol, that stimulate cell communication and encourage collagen building. My favorite C product is from my derm, but I also love Paula's Choice C15 and Retinol Kit, which runs $88. They pair well and last a very long time, with both formulas being stabalized. You can alternate AHA with Retinol and C, then take a day solely for hydration. You want to slowly acclimate your skin to these types of products and gradually increase usage. Read your C serum ingredients. You want to look for Ascorbic acid that's at least 10% in the formula. I've never tried Neocutis products, but you may want to look into them. I will be giving their ingredients a peek now out of curiousity..lol

(Never layer C with AHA's or you can irritate skin..even burning it. C can be alternated with AHA though, and C can be used simultaneously with Retinol without issue for most people.)

Ok thank you so much Rozberry J you have been such a big help. I have tried samples of Paula's Choice products and I did like. I was looking more into her vitamin c serum. I know I'm not going to get fast results but eye area is driving me insane. :)

What AHA do you use or recommend?

Mar 7, 2016

Roz X.

My fav is Alpha Hydrox Souffle. I'll link you to it. Paula's products are hit or miss, but her AHA, BHA, C, Toner, and Retinol have all performed as promised.
She hates my Mario Eye Cream, but my tired, dry eyes love it with my eye patches and oils, so you take a chance and sometimes, it pays off. Many ladies here swear by Clinique's Moisture Surge eye products. You could always pick up samples of their surge formulas at Clinique's counter.

My favorite AHA is here. It is nearly identical to what I was paying much more for at my derm.

Never on my lids, near my nostril openings or on my lips. I feather it in around those areas with a Qtip, but use my hands to apply to the rest of the area, including my neck and hands.

You'll want to counter it with C, alternately, facial oils and a moisturizing, non eye cream. Hope that helps!

*eye cream not non..lol Typo arghhh.

Rozberry what about Skinmedica AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser?

Mar 8, 2016

Roz X.

I'm not familiar with that line or product, but acids aren't really effective in cleansers. You rinse it off and the way acids work, it's intended to remain on the skin, such as in lotions and creams..toners. That's where you would see maximum impact.

It may do a little good, but meh..I'm done with acid washes.

Oh ok that's why I wanted to run it by you. It was super expensive anyway.
