So I recently realized that my eyeshadow doesn't look that great at the end of the day, creasing and what not. I was using the urban decay primer potion, which I know is like a classic, but I guess it doesn't work that well for me. I've also tried primers from laura mercier, essence and too faced, which all don't work either. I don't want to go on a hunt and buy 20 different primers, so what's your holy grail primer?

I really like the Mally eyeshadow base :)

Have you tried allowing it to set for a little longer?

I like to just use my everyday concealer as a primer.

If you really have your heart set on an actual primer though, I would look into the ELF one. And it's only two bucks which is a plus.

The elf one is really cheap but it is actually really good.

ELF eyeshadow primer is only $2 and it makes my eyeshadow last 15+ hours while I'm at school from 7-4 and work from 5-10PM without any touch ups.

The nars smudge proof is my HG primer. I have oily kids and when I use it my eyeshadow stays put all day. It also isn't overly tacky like some primers, which can make the shadow apply patchily

Too faced shadow insurance does the job!

Thank you girls for all your suggestions, and to Sarah M, I do usually let it set, I'll apply then do my eyebrows then apply shadow.
@ Jacqueline H, I don't really apply too much, maybe I need to apply more? And throughout the day they do get oily, my skin is dry though so I guess I assumed my lids weren't oily, but I've recently noticed they've been getting oily towards the end of the day

I'm not sure if it'd work for you, but I love my Mally's eyeshadow base. My eyeshadow won't move for a twelve + hour shift.

Smashbox 24hr eye primer! like you I tried so many different eye primers to get better staying power and color. Smashbox may be the higher end but it works great for me. make sure you let it set for 30 seconds before putting on eyeshadow. I know Sephora will let you have a sample to try out first  :)

I really like the urban decay one. I apply it with my fingers generously enough to have the whole lid well covered and then set it with a neutral eyeshadow before I start applying the actual eyeshadow I want to wear. maybe doing this might make a difference for you. :)

It gets particularly humid where I live (I'm surrounded by a lot of swamps) and I usually apply my primer and take a small fluffy eyeshadow brush and buff on some setting powder!

Thanks everyone! So I definitely don't have dry lids, and I don't think I have extremely oily lids either, but they do get a little oily by the end of the day. I think I might try the Nars, and try to get a few samples from sephora of the other recommendations. Thanks, I appreciate the help!

Benefit Stay Don't Stray in Med shade is my favorite. Goes on matte and lasts all day. My shadows do not move. Urban Decay Anti-Aging would be my second favorite but I have extremely dry skin and wrinkles.
