Hello fellow beautylishers!
My Dr recently prescribed me Retin-A for acne. And advised me to use it every other night. Have any of you got experience using this? What do you pair with this? currently I've been continuing my regular gentle wash and I exfoliate every other day. Along with a mouisterizer during the day.
The brand I've been using is control correctives. Before I was prescribed retin-a this seemed to be working fine. Now I noticed I'm way more dry in my problem area. Any tips?
Thank you!!

I use I think the 1% gel and I highly suggest the Cerave moisturizing cream (in the jar) it works amazing!
I tried sooooooo many creams like cetaphil, Eucerin, Clinique, and other brands as well as natural oils and that stuff actually works and my skin doesn't feel as sensitive, isn't as red and doesn't get as flaky but also isn't heavy.
If I exfoliate I usually try to use steam or use a washcloth and put it in hot water and have it in my face for a few minutes to soften up the dead skin and make it easier to exfoliate/not sting as much.

I have Retin-A and I suggest moisturizing the day that you will not use Retin-A. If you already don't do this then use retin-a at night. Drink plenty of water.

Thank you for the tips ladies! Aurora I will be sure to get some CeraVe cream, I have the Night time one but stopped using it since I've gotten the retin-a.

I was prescribed the 1% cream and was told to use it every night. I was also prescribed Minocycline (antibiotic) to go with. Unfortunately I build up a tolerance to it and am now on Accutane.
I paired with Neutrogena gentle foaming wash. My skin can be sensitive and dry out easily but can also get very oily. It's a ridiculous balance, but Neutrogena's wash along with Aveeno's daily moisturizer with SPF was a good combination for me. I tried to stay away from exfoliating except once a week, it would irritate my skin way too much and dry it out even more with the Retin-A.
