How do I keep gel eyeliner from smudging?

So I wear gel eyeliner and at the end of every day it's so smudged that there's no difference between where I applied it and the rest of my eye
It looks like gross eye shadow, and I'm legit not even exaggerating.
Help? :(

What eyeliner are you using?
I usually apply a bit of setting powder using a fluffy brush prior to doing eyeshadow/eyeliner.

I agree with Kitty on powdering your eye first to prevent oils frkm wearing off your eyeliner. And Jacqueline is spot on. NYX has a product like the Aqua Seal but it might be cheaper.
