Tamanu oil for hyper pigmentation?

I recently bought tamanu oil since I have a lot of dark purple spots leftover from acne and I heard it helps fade them. Has anyone tried using tamanu oil for hyper pigmentation before? Was it effective and how long did it take to see results? Thanks!
