I've always loved red lipstick but I never knew if it really went with my skin tone. I'll attach a picture with red lipstick that I used an app to see how it would look. What lipsticks would you suggest?
Have you tried Kylie's lip kit in Mary jo k? I really love her lip kits but I don't know if that color would suit me

I've tried her lip kits, and I'd say Mary jo seems to be a good red on everyone! I love her formula, and having a matching liner is really helpful I find. It'd look lovely on you. My everyday reds are the KVD liquid lipstick in outlaw or underage and the Lush lipstick in decisive. They're all cool toned reds which is my undertone, I'm not the best at figuring out undertones so I wouldn't be able to tell you yours but that might be a good place to start? I think there's a red lipstick out there for everyone, you've just got to find it

I would try mac's ruby woo or kat von d's liquid lipstick in outlaw. They are both almost always universally flattering on every skin tone. They're both pretty neutral toned pure reds. I haven't tried the lip kits and I'm not familiar with that color, but you never really know until you try. Sometimes just matching your skin tone isn't enough, since cool reds can look good on warm skin tones and vice versa. Another thing to keep in mind is cool reds (anything blue based) will make your teeth look whiter and warm reds (anything yellow based) will make any yellow in your teeth stand out more.

I'd say Ruby Woo or Russian Red would look good. They're both quite flattering on like everyone.
Ruby Woo is a little brighter, slightly blue based.
Russian Red is more of a neutral/true red but a tad darker.
Depending on how light or dark you are plus your lip color will determine how light or dark it'll look on you.

I agree with Alyx, you don't HAVE to wear a warm toned red if you're warm toned or a cool toned red if you're cool toned.
That's more of a guide but most the time people look good in the opposite which can actually contrast with your undertones in a flattering way.

Although, I personally don't notice my teeth look whiter with blue based reds. I feel like reds are dark enough to not really... Contrast with any yellowness in teeth.
It's more of an issue when it comes to pale shade IMO and it's actually the opposite for me.
When I wear a pale lavender shade my took look quite yellow(purple/cool tones will make yellow tones look more yellow)

Compared to when I wear a light orange shade (the warmth makes my teeth look whiter since it has more warmth in comparison, if that makes sense)
But I think it depend on the person, really.

I know when I wear Lady Danger(coral/warm red) my teeth look a bit more white compared to when I wear ruby woo but Ruby woo doesn't make my teeth look yellow by any means

I use a lip liner that's not colored with ELF Fearless lipstick. Total cost around 7.00 and it stays all day.
