My dermatologist put me on Retina A for acne. I have oily skin but it's super sensitive and I know this stuff is very drying. I know not to wear it every single night but what else can I do to make sure it's not flaking? Should I get a special brush or moisturizer?

I use it too and I just make sure to use the cerave moisturizing cream it's quite thick but not greasy, it'll ACTUALLY moisturize plus it has ceramides which skin tends to need when on retin a
It's not overly price and it's not one of those moisturizers with new fad ingredients.
It's just got basic ingredients that work.
It works way better than cetaphil which I found left me greasy and not very moisturized.

Keep it away from your eyes & around your mouth, and don't apply too much. I like to use a sheet mask on the nights I Don and use the retin or Moisturizer like Clinique Moisture Surge. It's refreshingly light feeling but is still very moisterizing.

You can apply moisterizer over the retin, but wait at least 30 minutes. And don't apply the retin right after you wash your face. Give it at least 10 mins after washing before you apply the retin.

I don't think you could use the retina a with hyaluronic acid.

I think it just depends where you live. Sometimes hyaluronic acid isn't good for dry skin if you live in a cold, dry area. Hyaluronic acid works by pulling moisture from the air, no? If there is no humidity, it just pulls it from your own body and literally creating more dryness. So really, it depends where you live regarding hyaluronic acid. That's why you hear raving reviews regarding them, and some totally had the opposite effect on them.

The water in hyaluronic acid will enhance the effect of Retin A, making it stronger I think that is why is recommend to apply on a very dry skin. Don't they?
