Hi girls, my hair is dark brown and yesterday I got a balayage at the salon that I just hated it! I had a pic of a beatiful ombre balayage that I showed to the stylist and I ended up leaving the salon with a balayage (not ombre at all) that was coming from the top of my head, almost from my roots, indeed the stylist said he wouldnt touch them.. I'm just so upset. My hair was natural, didnt have any dye... now I'm just hating it, that I'm considering dying it myself with my natural color... any thoughts on that how it would work? what would be the best option on getting my dark brunnete color back?

Did he do a blonde baylage? If so then you will have to wait at least a month before you do anything - and be careful because dying any color over blonde will fade but the blonde will stay forever - so any color over it will fade to a blonder color over time - I have naturally black hair and I went to the mall to get light brown highlights but she used a blonde base and it killed my hair - I used the brunette shampoo/conditioner by John Frieda to tone down the blonde and get to look more brown but I was too afraid to dye over it because I've seen horror situations where people died a box dye over a bad blonde job at the salon and they ended up with zebra hair! So I just waited until it grew out and cut my hair real short until all the blonde was gone - took about 2 years doing it that way but since then I realized that good hair care products are worth the investment so now my hair is very healthy and rarely needs a cut - even if it's color treated I rarely see split ends - so that's how I handled mine - if you want to dye your hair again be careful what you use and wait at least a month and get a haircut before you dye it again to reduce causing more damage than what's already been done.

Diana, why do you say to wait a month to color over it??
-Karin, if you are not happy with it then go back to the salon and have them fix it. it's not a big deal and I'm sure the stylist would rather you be happy then color it youself.

I say a month just to let your hair rest from the damage of the blonde - and also get it cut to reduce damage as well - but did they dye it blonde first and then that color? Either way the color will start to fade after about a month anyways and you can probably see by then whether or not you really hate it - otherwise I personally don't think the color looks horrible from the photo - but I like reds personally - try washing with the brunette wash by John Frieda for the month and see if it changes to more brown in tone if they don't end up fixing it at the salon.
