I'm working on learning eyeshadow application at 46...(crazy I know)...I have some Revlon brushes and real technique but when I apply my eyeshadow it looks muddy...Should I purchase different brushes? If so w which are good ones at a reasonable price?

Do you use different/ clean brushes for the application and blending? I find that really avoids a muddy look.
I like the real techniques eye shadow brush and also the elf ones, especially the blending brush, plus they are super affordable. :)

Do you use a primer before you apply the shadow and allow the primer to set before you start using shadow? Also when you use the brushes do you press down really hard so the brush is pressed into your skin? You should use the brushes with a light hand so that only the tips of the brushes are touching your eyes - if you press too hard then the shadow isn't going to go anywhere when you try to blend it - otherwise maybe if you post a photo it may be easier to provide feedback on what you may be doing wrong.

It could be all kinds of reasons why your shadow comes out muddy I've even learned when if I don't place shadows in the right order I get a mess I always start with my lighter colors first then go to darker especially when trying to do the crease a darker color then the lid first apply your light colors to your lid then lightly apply a small amount of color to the crease you always can add mire but can't take away so a little amount and a light hand helps a lot.

Yes! Morphe brushes are my fav! You can get 10% off with code Muanina. And remember, pat your shadows, do not brush. Brushing will add to the muddy look.
