I don't think the brand matters too much but if you are going blonde then I heard purple shampoo is good to keep it from getting brassy - and really any shampoo/conditioner made for color treated hair will help for other colors - if you have John Frieda products you use their shampoos made for specific hair colors

Yep. That product is good because it's dark purple. Also try not to wash your hair often to avoid the color from fading. Batiste dry shampoo is your friend.
