Does anyone have any tips on how to get this to spread more easily and to build coverage? I find it to be almost impossible to blend (have tried beauty blender, brush and fingers) and the coverage is too sheer and very "tacky". I want to like it because it does not settle into fine lines and wrinkles but I am about to give up and send it back.

You need a moisterizing primer or the Smashbox Oil primer, which would work beautifully with that foundation. I would get a sample, some people can't get used to an oil primer. Definitely for drier skin, but will add even more glow.

Marleen have you tried the Natasha face Glow foundation mixed with the Smash Box oil?

No, but I know that tacky feeling you're talking about. If you have any kind of face oil, you can try it with that. Just rub the oil into the palms of your hands & press the oil to your face. Let it set for a couple minutes then try the foundation over it. Maybe on you forehead only, so you're not wasting your foundation on testings.

I have used the Smashbox Oil as a primer & mixed into Born This Way...Beautiful! I know the Born isn't anything like the Denona, but I have experienced sticky, tacky, gel like foundations before.

Interesting because the foundation I believe is water/silicone mix, so that used over a oil would not last because the oil breaks down the silicone. If you feel that a foundation is tacky you could use a moisturizer with similar ingredient to balance it or a primer mixed in it. But I believe natasha has a base that is to be used with the glow foundation. :)

Born this Way is also a water/glycerin /silicone mix, but it definitely isn't tacky. The two foundations actually share a lot of the same ingredients. But of course, they use different ratios of ingredients that makes the texture difference. Most of the time, you got just experiment. Because the theory doesn't always agree with actual usage. I never thought in a million years, that an oil would work as primer but here I am!

Physicians Formula also has some kind of honey and argan oil face oil/primer.

Ya I knew that about the Born this way and I've used the smashbox oil primer which is why I was asking if you had used it with the ND because the oil in my opinion is like any oil in the market it has 15 different oils that most may have in a skin care routine already and that if anything should have shown any benefit result mixed with a foundation if it was an actual benefit since it does break down silicone. It's true not all things are golden I'm just giving a bit of mua insight and thought wow how was Marleen able to make a heavy (my opinion) smashbox oil work with a water/silicone foundation with out it slipping or breaking apart? and with such product as the ND foundation or TF I might be missing something. :)

I can't guarantee it will work for everyone. I am super dry and still have a little residential surface dehydration. Also, I've never had a problem with makeup staying on my face. I only used them to give my skin a smoother surface, like minimizing pores an uneven skim texture.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I did try it with a drop of oil and it broke the foundation down but I will try it with a brush per Hailey's suggestion. It really is a good product if I can just get it to spread more easily! May try to build coverage with the FX drops. Stay tuned!

Update for anyone having the problem I was having with this foundation. I used Dr. Jart Day Tint on my face first as a primer then out the ND foundation on top. I used the MUFE stick foundation as a concealer and blended it all with a damp beauty blender. I won't buy the foundation again but it layering it over the Dr. Jart Day Tint which has a hint of color took some of the "glowy greasy" look away and still left me feeling like I wasn't wearing any foundation. Thanks for all the tips everyone. You gave me the idea to try and layer, mix, etc... Instead of just sending it back.
