My friends birthday is coming up and I asked her what she wanted and she said money. Obviously I'm not going to give her money, we are going to Ulta very soon and I want to get her something but I don't really know what. Something that is in the $25-$30 range. And it can be a number of things in that range thanks!

Gift cards are nice, but for a best friend, I'd want to do something more personal. I'd treat her to breakfast or lunch the day you go to Ulta, and then give her the gift card mid-meal. Lots of breakfast spots are inexpensive and sushi joints, grills, etc. always have lunch specials during the week.

I think going shopping together makes the gift card even better.
I made one of my closest friends a dinner and then, gave her a gift card. We did as you said, and went together. I hate shopping, but for a dear friend, I'd gladly join in and help her pick a few goodies out.
