Swatch 'em, try 'em! I tend to like products that are recommended by beauty bloggers who have similar taste

I check Sephora for new products daily, and if something catches my eye I look up lots of reviews and swatches. If they all turn up positive, I plan to make a trip to get it!

I'm always looking for products that have more than one use. Versatility is my main goal. I want to have the least amount of stuff possible to create a decent variety of looks.

I'm big on reviews and swatches as well.

I only buy what I need. Then I go to blogs, websites, YouTube to find product reviews. If I find something I like, I'll continue replacing and wont even think about trying new things. However, beautylish has increased what I consider "needs". :p

Yeah, I love beauty gurus. I try not to have repeats in my collection or too similar of items. Before I buy, I ask myself, "Do I really need this? Is there nothing like it in my collection? Will I actually use it or hoard it?"

Once I find a HG product, I won't look elsewhere. But sometimes, my interest is sparked! Haha. Do you ladies ever consider price, brand, packaging, etc, when choosing?

I definitely consider every aspect you mentioned! But my priority is performance.

I read some product reviews but rely mostly on friends and family who work in the industry. Many times they get full size product to sample and they either tell me its worth it or give to me to try. I also heavily research swatches as well.

Performance/quality is most important for sure, Carmen! And Shelley, I would rely more on friends and family as well, because you can trust them more and you know them unlike random reviews. I agree on the heavily researching swatches. Haha. Thanks ladies for sharing!

For me my kit is based on trial and error.... Research is also #1 for me.... Then trying the products on myself before my clients....get samples....I agree with Stephanie on versatility....and Carmen is on key with performance .... If it doesn't perform I don't use it!!!! Thanks ladies❤

Naseeha, I'm personally not a big fan of E.L.F. products. They're really hit or miss with me. I hope they work for you. :) And Julie, that makes sense. Thanks! <3

I research a lot of things before I buy them. Read reviews, check ingredients, watch demonstrations, etc. Cost isn't really a concern to me, I have some of the most inexpensive products to some of the most luxurious and I love them all the same and for different reasons. If I do find something less expensive fulfills the job of a more expensive product, I will phase the expensive one out. Basically, once a product looks like it would work with my skin type, I keep it only if it is effective in doing what it is supposed to do, and efficient at doing it. I like products I can use everyday without needing a ton of tools or extra products to make them work. I personally stay away from all shimmer/glitter, I prefer neutral colors in pencils, shadows, and I prefer a satin/semi-matte finish in my foundations.

Thanks, ladies! And swatches are where you "swatch" or put product on your hand/arm to show the color and get a idea of the product.
