Does Coffee Hair Dye Really Work

I have blonde hair from using hair dye of course.. But my roots are starting to show and I'm trying to tone my hair down a little. And also I don't want to damage my hair anymore than it already is. I've seen things about dying your hair with coffee. Will this time it down? Or kill it even more? Or make it a horrible color? Good or bad idea?

I think your best bet would be getting a toner put on it at a salon, or getting some corrective color with some low lights. I'm not a hair stylist but I was blonde for a whole year and the biggest thing I learned was that doing blonde yourself can be a bad idea lol. And I would also get a purple or blue tone shampoo (John Frieda has one) to tone down any orange and yellow tones and give you a more natural shade. As far as the coffee dye goes. I'm not sure that it will give you much of a difference in color. It may tone it a bit but I don't know if your hair will absorb any color from it because its very blonde now.
